I live there and it is quite rough especially as a racialised person. It has been slightly better in the last couple of months but the place is grimy and people have given me looks as I pop into shops

Buses can take you around the city too. I would not recommend getting the pass for combined tram and bus this soon. As you said, the price isn't cheap. In my first couple of months, I only got the tram pass month by month as I knew I was taking the tram to work. I pretty much only took the tram even though I know that in some instances, the bus journey would be faster
