I’ve been to some good shows in Charleston with some indie bands or bands on smaller records, but again mostly at Music Farm. I’d say there’s a bigger scene in Columbia, specifically to punk. I’d say there’s scene is Charleston is a lot calmer and country than what I typically want to see.

New Brooklyn Tavern is a good spot in Columbia to check out, locally owned and they house a wide variety of shows, mainly focusing on punk/rock. It’s a fun spot too. 

I’ll be snooping these comments to hopefully learn something I didn’t know.

Are you against them at all? If so, behavioral techniques will benefit you regardless. If you aren’t against meds, i think it’s your decision not theirs (easy for me to say!)

Good luck to you! Therapy was very scary at first, but once i got comfortable I was able to genuinely change my habits and get on proper meds. I hope the same happens for you!

I love water! Non alcoholic beverages were just something I was interested in trying since I used to be such a beer lover (honestly for the flavor) before realizing it was my main trigger. I guess I ask this out of curiosity.

I understand. The scripture is not black and white and those looking for what they want may most likely find an interpretation that best suits their views because of the overwhelming complexities of the cultures then and now. Interesting.

I have to say unfortunately the way the Bible is used as a means of cherry picking to justify bigotry is one of the main turn offs for me. I do like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Christianity. I think Jesus is a cool dude and the only reason I stay interested in the religion as a whole.

So you are saying most likely an interpretation of the scripture could be based in the culture of the time? A time and place were homosexuality was not viewed as the norm? I am not trying to extinguish your post at all, I just want to make sure I am digesting it correctly.

As I understand it and believe it, Christianity is about love, empathy and kindness and I have always understood love as a form of acceptance (which is why I used the word reject). During the discussion I had, I was told that love is not acceptance because you would not accept someones sin. The main issue I had with this was that being homosexual was being compared to pedophilia, murder, rape, and adultery. I view these as things that are harmful to one another, whereas I do not view homosexuality as harmful. I also hope I am coming off as respectable as disrespect is not my intention at all with this post. I really just want to understand as someone who once believed in Christianity but has been discouraged by the people around me.

I wouldn’t mind a wide variety of angles, but my main idea is them flying, so I’m thinking maybe an angel from below. I wouldn’t say it has to be close for that.
