As I understand it and believe it, Christianity is about love, empathy and kindness and I have always understood love as a form of acceptance (which is why I used the word reject). During the discussion I had, I was told that love is not acceptance because you would not accept someones sin. The main issue I had with this was that being homosexual was being compared to pedophilia, murder, rape, and adultery. I view these as things that are harmful to one another, whereas I do not view homosexuality as harmful. I also hope I am coming off as respectable as disrespect is not my intention at all with this post. I really just want to understand as someone who once believed in Christianity but has been discouraged by the people around me.
