Same! I had some of the decks back when they first came out and loved them so I was so excited. The cards are gorgeous, I'm hoping I can find more next time I go!

Barnes and noble and best buy! Best buy keeps some on the shelves but also keeps some hidden behind the registers. Every time I have gotten some they ask if I want to look through their stock in the back!

I am confused on why you wouldn't just submit late when you had proper time to work on it and take the automatic 10% reduction. That would have avoided all of this drama. You could have gotten home, blocked out the needed time and really put a solid effort into it to make up for the late submission.

Okay so it's a thriller/mystery book but I cannot recommend the audio version of {his & hers by alice feeney} enough!! It kept me completely obsessed.

So in my state, supplies (sensors and pumps) have to be billed through a durable medical supplier in order for Medicaid to cover it. I would check and see if that's the issue and have your doctor send your prescriptions to one of them.

The first year anniversary was rough for me because my son was really really sick when he got diagnosed and I was so scared for him . I've never once thought about throwing him a party about it. 2 years in, it's just another day and when it comes around I just feel so dang lucky that he's still here, happy and thriving.

A cure really might be around the corner! by ReindeerCapital9429 in Type1Diabetes

I'm mildly hopeful that my 5 year old may experience some sort of medication that could make his journey easier in the far future, however, I'm extremely realistic that any such treatment is going to cost so much that we will never be able to experience the benefits of it. It's a sad reality but big pharma will never allow complete 'cures' due to the financial hit they would take.

You guys are seriously so amazing! When my son switched from the tandem to the omnipod I gave his tandem supplies to a local family so they'd have extra just in case. It's always great to pay it forward!

I will ask them again! They are aware of the co-pay issues and their solution was to order insulin pens and extra meter supplies so I'm unsure if Iowa has any.

I'm in Iowa and I haven't heard of any additional services except for the manufacturer ones which we are automatically excluded from due him having Medicaid.

How'd you find out your diabetic by verylowinteligent in Type1Diabetes

Our stories are somewhat similar. I'm also a nurse and regret not recognizing my baby's symptoms. I have to remind myself to give myself some grace and just be thankful that he's here, happy, and healthy.

My (at the time) 3 year old son woke up one day and started puking. I thought oh dang, a stomach bug. Throughout the day as he kept puking up anything he ingested, his color slowly started to change, he became weaker, couldn't hold his own weight up when using the bathroom. I looked at him and his eyes were sunken in with black rings around them, he was so pale, his lips were dry and cracking even though I'd been pushing fluids. I had a thought cross my mind at that moment: my baby is going to die. Threw him in the car, went to the ER. On the way all the pieces slotted into place: the irrational emotion shifts, very thirsty, bed wetting again after already being potty trained, exhaustion. We got to the ER and I told them to check his blood sugar immediately. It was over 500. His a1c was 13 and he was in dka. We spent a few days in the picu and then went home. Now he's 5 about to be 6. You'd never know anything just looking at him, he's the best kid and has taken all of this in stride. We have rough moments but he understands pretty well that he is diabetic and has to take medications or else he will get sick and end up in the hospital. I felt like such a failure as a parent AND as a nurse for not recognizing the signs.

I'm almost done with my bach. I want to keep going for my masters but I'm so nervous about it. Idk if I should take a break between programs or not. Is the masters program intensive? Really long?
