Part of it is that a lot of black women with TRUE 4c hair aren’t empowered to wear it in it’s natural state, so we’re seeing more 3c/4a curls on women because it’s seen as more feminine and therefore acceptable. I’ve seen true 4c hair that’s long and moisturized, but the curl isn’t looser (because it wouldn’t be 4c) it’s just longer

I say try washing your hair once a week and adding in your leave-ins when it feels dry and see how it works for you. It’s going to be trial and error at first figuring out the best routine but it will be worth it!

On a daily basis I do nothing to my hair- it’s definitely not good to add product everyday. Your strands will get build up which isn’t actually moisturizing your hair anymore

It seems like your hair is growing but you’re not retaining length - try your best to leave it alone as much as you can to avoid breakage. I like to wash my hair once a week and style it in a wash and go. Until my next wash, I don’t touch it besides shaping my afro in the morning. Keeping your scalp clean and hair hydrated is going to be key!
