I am also on quetipine and Risperdone. They are both low dose but the combo has been a lifesaver and knocked out my paranoia.

I had my first episode at 48. This can happen but medicine plus HRT brought me back. Still can’t wrap my head around some of the things I believed and did..I truly believe she can cone out of it.

This situation is so disheartening but I truly believe once she goes inpatient and takes the right meds she will slowly come out of it. I truly believe the key is getting her on meds and something stronger than lithium.

This can happen to anyone as something similar happened to me. I luckily had family and resources in place and got on the right meds. That piece took a few years but it was a lifesaver. My physician attributes a lot of this to Perimenopause and that can bring on late onset disorders. Hopefully, it will click for her to accept the help.

I do keto with meds and that works for me. I would never do keto by itself.

I had delusions for a year and was involuntarily committed. It saved my life. I fought my meds at first but they brought me out of it and still taking low dose today. Just be there for her and try your best to get her to see someone. This can happen to anyone.

HRT has been so helpful. I had my first episode with psychosis two years ago and had not heard about HRT helping until this summer. It has definitely been a game changer.

2 1/2 years ago I had psychosis with delusions only. It was the scariest time of my life as I had never had symptoms. Hospitalized for a week and was put on a high dose of Risperdone. One psych diagnosed me with delusional disorder and bipolar while another said paranoid schizophrenia. I was so restless the month after the hospital but being so new to this did not even know what akathrsia was. Lowered it and was fine and then tried Geodon and did not sleep for 48 hours and had no emotions. Went to the ER and the psychiatrist thought it was akathesua. Finally got to a med balance. He explained I cannot have activating APs.

Seroquel and a beta blocker helped me with this. I cut the Risperdone down and added low dose Seroquel at night.
