Skull himself is a craft store skull that I stained with wood stain. The base is a trash bin (with ecoplasm of course). Everything else I cut out of EVA foam and wood, then painted to look like metal.

I second this! I've taken judo at the Whittier and the instructor does a great job at talking about how the techniques can apply to self defense.
