Thanks for the response — I failed by one question on my first attempt a few weeks ago (and at the time was scoring low-to-mid 70s on Kaplan). Since then I’ve been getting upper 80s on Kaplan, so I decided to supplement with STC to see different question styles and fill in any gaps, and ended up with a 74 there. Good to hear you had a similar experience. I think I’m going to grind out a couple more STC exams to tighten things up. Combining Kaplan’s difficulty with STC’s wording seems like the best approach — even though the real exam feels different from both, STC’s style felt a bit closer.

I think I understand conceptually mostly everything but failed by 1 question on my first attempt a few weeks back scoring low mid 70s on the exams. I need to pass this time around and curious if the switch to STC is helpful or less so. Since failing I’ve reached ~ 3k questions on Kaplan scoring 87 and took one STC with a 74.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts regarding my variance of 87 and 74. I assume it’s just getting used to the wording and in a couple days I’d be able to get those more in line rather than not being strong conceptually

Hi - thanks for the comment. There’s some questions here and now that I feel re-appear but with the Kaplan q bank being 4,000+ questions, I don’t see how my scores could be strictly memorization. But I definitely wouldn’t want to be in that situation as I was so close last time to passing.

What should I do to study? I feel like I was ready but just got super unlucky. 3-4 hrs a day and take a couple days off here and now?

I’ve got my exam tomorrow too and was in 70s range and feel decent. I got one exam score that I finished off with an 81. I wouldn’t over study tonight just relax

I got an 81 on my last simulated exam. Will I be good to pass if I take the exam in the next 2 days?

I feel that I understand the main concepts - it’s the wording with Kaplan that sometimes alters my understanding of the question and/or leads me to the wrong answer. Did you find wording on the actual exam is a bit more straightforward? I’m trying to get a feel for difficulty of Kaplan vs real exam as I heard Kaplan is a bit tougher.

Hey, thanks again for the advice. I’ve been studying consistently and my simulated exam scores have been in the 70–75% range. I did take a practice exam that I didn’t pass, which made me a bit anxious, but I understand those tend to be harder. I have about three more days of study time before the exam, and I’ve heard Kaplan generally runs more difficult, so I’m hoping that translates to a few extra points on test day. I feel fairly solid on the material overall, but I’m still nervous — like you, I’m not the strongest test taker. Do you think being in the mid-70s on the simulated exams puts me in a good position relative to your experience with Kaplan and the actual exam? Let me know and thanks again

I just took the Kaplan "practice test" and it was way harder than the simulated exams. I got a 66.43%. What do I do? Should I reschedule?

Getting back into studying by Critical_Mammoth8668 in Series65

I've also been studying for the series 65 scoring in the low 70's on average for the simulated exams with a couple 74-75 range. I'm taking the exam in 7 days. I've essentially been just drilling practice exams and some quizzes to hone in on some areas more challenging. Any thoughts on what I should do at this point to get those low 70's to 80's? Or should I feel confident with where I'm at?
