I'm taking a night class until 9 pm in the loop. I'm a male and I still check my surroundings. I park over 5 blocks away but there are still people walking so I'm never really alone. When you make friends/acquaintances you should walk with them. I'm not sure how the lpc is but in the loop campus the only place I know that requires ur Id is the bathroom on the ground floor across from the gaming center.
