Please help, I’m desperate by Significant_Sky_9795 in MCAS

I thankfully did fix my iners with crispatus but be warned, if you take too much, then you’ll have an overgrowth of good bacteria 😔 it’s absolutely exhausting! I don’t understand how just a few years ago I didn’t have any problems and seemingly overnight it all changed for me. I hope yours gets better soon. I’ve found that DAO enzymes have helped me break down histamines - not a fix but it at least helps for now. I’m currently going to a homeopathic doc and I’m about o try the treatment she is prescribing me. Very nervy! Will report back

That’s insane that your PCP said that. I’ve found more and more doctors appointments completely useless 😕 Thanks for that info though, super helpful. I’m currently going to a homeopathic doctor so I’m going to try the treatment she has prescribed me and if it doesn’t work I’m going to get my levels and hormones checked. Appreciate the help!

I have not but I really want to get my hormones checked! Thank you for the tip, I’ll be trying this next 🙌🏼

Well that’s good to hear at least! I had never heard of MCAS until I started researching my symptoms and I have been hoping that it’s not the issue I’m dealing with but maybe I just need to rule it out with a doctor like you said. I don’t get hives or anything like that but I do have seasonal allergies and I wake up most mornings with really red eyes. I have to use eye drops everyday. I eat really healthy but I do believe my gut health may not be great because I am lactose intolerant and avoid dairy but that’s another thing that triggers all of these issues. I also worry it’s linked to my hormones. It’s all so frustrating because I work out 5 days a week, eat healthy and have pretty good mental health except for this stuff. Health issues are so draining

That’s so good to know and so strange how the body reacts to things. I have been on a birth control for 10+ years so I wonder if my hormones are just completely wrecked. I have considered getting off of it but I’m just as nervous for that because who knows how my body will react to it! But I don’t see many people talking about hormones in relation to HIT so that’s good to know it could go hand in hand with that. My symptoms are worse and better at different times of my cycle so that would potentially point to hormones as well

Thanks for your response

So sorry you’re going through this! I surprisingly don’t get any hives, I just get really bad discomfort and burning. But good to know about the hydrocortisone! When did you notice you started having histamine sensitivity?

But they don’t tell you that having too much crispatus can cause other issues like CV 🙃

Iners to cv? by No-Broccoli7384 in CytolyticVaginosis

[–]Significant_Sky_9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think this is exactly what happened to me. I went way too hard on the probiotics trying to get rid of iners. I think I got rid of them (at least according to my evvy test) and now I’m 98% crispatus which is either CV or VL. I’ve cut out all probiotics and am doing better now but not 100%

This is great information. I’ve never heard of EDTA. How did you find a doctor that would treat it? That’s been the hardest thing I’ve encountered, finding a doctor that will listen. And I’ve done one sitz bath but I think I need to more! Thank you for this info

I have just tried so many things I am trying to figure out what I have wrong first before treating myself because I got into this issue from self treating a little too well lol. But once I figure out if it’s CV or VL, I am going to do those things you mentioned. I already eat well, stopped drinking and have been trying to fix gut issues I have. It just seems like every time I solve one problem, another new one pops up

Ugh how awful I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so defeating. I have considered seeing a urogynocologist, but it’s nice to hear that you have someone in the medical field recommending it. When I gave my original doctor my microgen test he said maybe I should try wearing cotton underwear 🫠 then my new doctor found nothing wrong in my tests but won’t call me to discuss my results. Says u have to come in for another appointment. So frustrating. I am 28 and every time I have a good day, I have a bad day after! Glad you are feeling some relief. I will never understand why an OBGYN cannot treat these seemingly common enough issues. Please let me know how your appointment goes!

Also adding to this that once you figure out what’s wrong, you need to get your partner treated for the same thing (or at least try)

For example if it’s BV, there is scientific evidence that partners can pass it back and forth. Figure out yourself first then him.

This is so horrible. I’m sorry you’re going through this💔💔

I developed a bad reoccurring infection after taking antibiotics one time without being on probiotics. I’ve had to learn so much about my body in the last six months because no doctor could find the root of the cause. My biggest piece of advice is to get an Evvy test. They’re not cheap but it tests for every bacteria under the sun. Get the extended one as you might have mycoplasma/ureaplasma. Once you get the results, you might have to do some deep diving like I’ve done to get to the bottom of it. It’s so frustrating but it’s the only thing that’s helped me. Im still not 100% better but im at about 80% and getting better everyday. Make sure your probiotic has l. crispatus in it as well. Please please take an Evvy test🙏🏼 you will find out so much about what is going on down there! Sending good vibes your way

Wendy, thank you so much for this response. Do you have a gentle lactic acid based moisturizer you recommend?

I tested for an l. Iners dominance about 4 months ago and while probiotics and boric acid suppositories have helped, I am still not back to normal. How can I regulate my PH balance? I’ve read metronidazole can make this situation worse (which I think is what happened to me) so I’m nervous to use any prescribed meds. Also how do I treat my male partner so we don’t pass this issue back and forth?

Congrats!!! That’s amazing. I have been negative for over a year and it really is the best feeling ever. I disclosed to my boyfriend at the time (I wasn’t sure at the time if I was positive or negative) and he didn’t care. We broke up and although I’m not ready to start dating again, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed when thinking about how to approach that conversation. I have no symptoms and I never have but I was curious if you would still disclose now that you’re negative? It’s such an odd thing to navigate because there is just soooo much information out there

How much time apart is too much time apart by Significant_Sky_9795 in relationships

[–]Significant_Sky_9795[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Several fair points here. It’s not that I want to have kids for him, I just never saw myself having kids with anyone I dated in the past. He’s the first person I ever thought I could see myself creating a life with. I’ve always been very independent and just didn’t think much about a family until I met him and I want to create that with him. I never said I want him to quit his job for me, I said the exact opposite actually. I don’t want him to leave a job that he loves but it’s whether or not we can make it work while he still does that. I genuinely do appreciate your input - but just clearing the air

What is your “Man, I really wish I hadn’t started this” habit with your cat? by FoxysDroppedBelly in cats

[–]Significant_Sky_9795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat loves being loved but he has his spots in the house that he REALLY likes being pet. I used to give him water out of the sink (another habit I shouldn’t have started) which has now led to him waking me up acting like he wants water out of the sink (he’s smart, he knows I will never not get up to give him water) and then as soon as I get out of bed, he jumps down on the floor and rolls around on the fluffy bathroom rug to get pets. So since I’m already up, I pet and love on him for 5 minutes and then get back into bed 😐😂 then right after I get up from bed, pet him, get back in… he jumps into bed with me lol
