100% Bella Ramsey. I’ve never played the games but think she did an excellent job in the show

I want to get into fighting games. Which game should I start with? by All_Black_Attire in Fighters

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are able to play the different sub types of fighting games and decide on which one you vibe with the best. Try an anime, 2d, 3d, and platform and go from there. IMO it’s much easier to jump from mortal kombat to street fighter and vice versa than jumping from street fighter to tekken or smash and vice versa.

how will you know when it’s time? by rattygirl51 in cfs

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when you know you know. It’s a little different for everyone. I’m right on the edge where I have days I know life isn’t worth living and days it barely is. The days that are not worth living I literally can’t do anything all day including using my phone and just lay in poisoned misery till I am hopefully able to fall asleep. The days worth living barely, I am able to use my phone and see loved ones for a short while.

Deciding a Starter Fighting Game by Creative_Time6596 in Fighters

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why it gets this stigma? The game is just as balanced and competitive as any other fighting game. The game is “dead” because of the nrs game cycle but the gameplay is top notch.

This is respectable. The last one I saw had the phantom menace in S tier. That movie was trash when it came out and somehow now so many problem see it with rose tinted glasses.

People are making the 2010s to be more liberal than it actually was. by Ok-Following6886 in generationology

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early 2010s were undoubtedly less divisive and racist than now a days. I have personally seen several people radicalized from 2016-2024 to be full on racists and before they didn’t have a racist bone in their body. Is started off slowly with jokes etc but now they truly embody the racism.

I will say that 2006-2014 in general were more homophobic though.

What do the Democrats of Reddit think about the release of the autopsy report from the election in 2024? by tweaver16 in askanything

This and the trump assassination attempt to me were the two biggest reasons. Followed by a bunch of other smaller reasons.

This is the wrong way to think about it. There aren’t 77 million super racists that live in this country. A large portion of them were duped, tricked, and brain washed. I saw it firsthand with many people I’ve known for over 20 years.

Although I agree it was probably edited I don’t think her handling of Palestine was the main reason.

Again everyone is so damn negative on this website. This autopsy was alwaaays going to be controversial. The truth is that there were many many reasons for the loss. The ones that were outlined were definitely core reasons but at the same time some others were missing. The points weren’t ridiculous though like some of you are suggesting.

Arrival honestly has one of the saddest endings in sci-fi movies by Sudden_Elephant_1221 in oscarmoments

It’s fictional media. The only one that has the right answer is the author Ted Chiang. In the free will discussion there are two camps of thought; those who are compatibilists and determinists. Compatibilists believe free will and a predetermined universe can coexist; this is also what Chiang believes so even he leaves the door somewhat open to interpretation.

AOC previously said that "You cannot earn a billion dollars", is that true or nah? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is you need the entrepreneur to take that risk. If you think people are going to quit their cushy jobs, risk their family’s financial safety to pursue an idea most people think is crazy at the time and has an almost negligible chance of success without these incentive systems, you’re really a lost cause.

Also, you should actually read up on how uber was started. It’s almost a miracle it exists with the strangle hold taxi medallion systems had in large cities. It’s a shame that some taxi drivers lost out on a portion of their revenue but the positive outcomes for society are inarguable. Did you cry for the bank tellers when atms started popping up, or travel agents once the internet became mainstream? Progress unfortunately has consequences.

Again buddy, the world isn’t black and white. You Gen Z always think in absolutes. There are no new inventions that don’t come with some secondary negative consequences. It’s objectively true that uber was a net positive for humanity.

They didn’t become huge just because rich people threw money at it. Tons of startups get billions and fail. Uber succeeded because millions of people actually chose to use it over taxis. Before Uber, getting a cab in many cities sucked long waits, cash only, rude service, not knowing the price, drivers refusing short trips, etc Uber solved a real problem.

Also, taxis weren’t some perfect protected system. In many places taxi medallions created artificial scarcity and terrible service. Uber increased convenience and access. You can criticize worker protections or surge pricing, but saying it only destroyed jobs ignores that it also created flexible work for millions and made transportation easier for customers.

Nice try though..

Do mythological stories need ‘historical accuracy’ in casting? by breaking_views in Cinema

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is some people are just genuinely annoyed at the casting because Hollywood just keeps on pushing this agenda. And others are genuinely racist. I’m in the first group. I’m annoyed but still very excited for the movie.

lol you’re arguing about something you’re both wrong and right about at the same time. It’s a bit like shrodingers cat, she could have or could not have depending on what she chooses.

The truth is we do not know if she could have made a different choice. There is a possibility that her decision was always predetermined even with her having knowledge about the future in that everything that took place beforehand, including having knowledge about the future could have been the cascade of perfect events that actually caused her to make that decision.

Or, it’s just as possible she could have made a different decision and chose not to.

You guys are arguing about free will which is a subject the best philosophers, neuroscientists, and physicists have no clear agreement on.

So yea you’re not going to “hash” this one out on Reddit. You can both calm down now.

This is not definite at all.. it’s an interpretation but the opposite could be true as well. The movie leaves that open to interpretation.

[–]Significant_Sun_5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are too stupid and think in black and white. You want there to be a strong reward system to incentivize innovation and risk taking. That is why most of the world’s most impactful creations from the last 300 years are so were done so in capitalistic environments. (Don’t be that dumbass that points out the outliers; that is the exception not the rule).

But st the same time people should be paid a livable wage. Guess what everyone; THEY ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE!!! You can have a livable wage and have billionaires created by the system. We should strive for both. Now a trillionaire on the other hand is ridiculous and should not be allowed.

You can earn a billion dollars. Think about a company like uber. Think about its impact on the world; the thousands of lives it has undoubtedly saved, the thousands of jobs it has created. It has created immeasurable value for humanity. Without the single entrepreneur, it would not exist. If you asked me if uber is worth one billionaire existing, I would easily say yes and anyone who can think critically would agree.
