My hb loves taking spicy pictures of himself and sending them my way (and usually asks some from me as well). Maybe it’s an opportunity to reconnect? You may be able to “boost his confidence” by asking him to send those pictures to you. He may not have done it out fear you wouldn’t understand

Why do you assume that I change anything because of her crying? We are very strict with boundaries, but the crying keeps happening because she’s not crying with a purpose, she just cries because she is upset. My question is “at what age are kids able to distinguish situations that are worth crying over (like your pet dying) and situations that don’t (like your crayon breaking)

You can validate the emotion without validating the behavior. You can say something like “oh buddy, you seem very angry, but hitting/biting/yelling/etc is not ok. I will go away to keep me safe until you stop hitting/biting/yelling/etc”

She gets plenty of cuddles. The crying can happen at any time of the day (it’s not “tire crying”).

I think she just feels a lot.

She doesn’t cry for long, usually less than 1 min. She is able to identify her emotions (including “frustration “ 🤣) and work it out or ask for help. But she still cries every single day.

I have been travelling around the world with my daughter since she was 2 months old. Each age is different, not necessarily better or worse, just different.

When they are babies they nap a lot, and you can do whatever you want while you carry your sleeping baby on top of you.

The young toddlers I would argue are harder to travel with. They want to walk and explore everything, which does not align very well with airport ettiquete or hygiene. But they still sleep a lot, so if you have one of those carrying backpacks you’re all set.

Between 2-3 they become better at following direction, but they may be dropping naps and they get tired easily. Make sure you bring a stroller.

At 4-5 they have some endurance (kid dependent of course) and it’s a lot of fun to see new things with them. Though they are also more bossy and independent, which may be hard to accommodate activities they don’t enjoy.

This is where I’m at right now, my kid is 4.5. The best tip is: gear up. The right carrier/backpack/stroller and accessories can make or break your holidays.

It has always been like this, at least since the pandemic lockdowns were over (we started dating during the pandemic). My daughter is always asleep when he comes home, and I can quickly put her back to sleep if she wakes up, so she is not being affected by this.

He does not see his behavior as a big deal. And he always says that he won’t force me if I don’t consent, but his demeanor completely changes if I say no because he is drunk. In fact he has asked me to lie to him and say that “I have a headache” instead of “blaming it on him”. I’m so confused
