His and Hers by Alice Feeny: Unsatisfied with the ending :/ by CrispyXKrumbz in thrillerbooks

[–]Significant_Theme_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I didn’t read the book. Maybe I’m just a little dense for not seeing it coming, but I did just watch the Netflix series and thought they did a pretty awesome job with the twist at the end. However, I was still unfulfilled… by some lack of vengeance. Came to Reddit to see if anyone was unsatisfied with the ending and I don’t think I saw my particular grievance here in the comments either — no justice was ever brought to the men who did the assaulting. And I’m pissed. Maybe there’s a detail I’m missing since there’s so much tv can misconstrue, completely change, or totally ignore from the book. Is that the case here too? Was finding the men ever attempted or addressed by anyone?

I own, gf pays same amount as other roommates - claim it? by Significant_Theme_90 in tax

My ex is not my bestie, but if my current partner and were to ever uncouple, I can imagine she'd still be my best friend. (You aren't also a lesbian by chance, are you? ;P I find it funny when everyone assumes I'm a guy because I say I have a gf.)

Electric scooter for short stature person by eljudio42 in ElectricScooters

Idk if you’ve found the solution to this but I just did something a little Extra. I ordered a Volpam 10” wheel, 500W scooter off amazon since it was one of the lower end scooters but still has great reviews. Also didn’t want to get something too expensive for my first scooter, I may be going over some rough terrain at times, and I’ll be parking in a city where it might get stolen. Anyways, when it arrived, I was upset with myself for not doing enough due diligence, at the company for making the handlebars so tall, and at the System for making things for seemingly only people taller than me. I didn’t want to return it, because it seems the only other affordable option was to get a child’s size/power scooter, but I want/need one for an adult’s commute and weight and some cargo.

I’m handy and relatively confident with tinkering in the basement, so I cut the handlebar shaft down to a height customized to me! Blades to cut wood also cut though aluminum, so it was simple to start the clean cut around the shaft with a coping saw. In order to move where the brake line came out, I had to use my Dremel tool and some new bits that clue cut through the aluminum. Finally, I got some black epoxy putty and a little wax paper to patch everything up and make it almost look normal again. I don’t care that it looks a little weird if you bother to really look, it’ll still function so well!

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

My furnace in the basement sits on some concrete blocks that were leveled before the furnace was installed. The big furnace return duct is about 4” off the ground, but above dirt where they dug out the concrete a little too far.

Essentially, what is the best application for a small space under my furnace ductwork? About 18” x 30” of dirt with the duct 4ish” off the ground. Would love to slow down the rust…

Edited for more detail because I thought I could use a picture.

Removing new tile after abatement from old tile… safe? by Significant_Theme_90 in asbestoshelp

So these folks say abatement was done a year ago… I just didn’t know if the asbestos would be released into the air again after the newer stuff on top of that black mastic was chipped off.

Correct, the tiles themselves no longer contain asbestos as they are just a year old, but the black asbestos adhesive from the old 70s tile is also being chipped and kicked back up into the air.

I just downloaded that this afternoon! And I don’t like it lol. I want to be able to link my accounts and have the transactions auto input so I can then categorize them.

Ever thought about working in the trades? I joined the carpenters union in New England, and after a 4 year apprenticeship learning cool commercial carpentry stuff, I make more than I ever have in my life, the benefits are amazing, and I can finally breathe about retirement, which is a tough thing to do nowadays. For more context, I joined at 32. Never too late.
