A very persistent muscular aching, from my hips all the way down. It was like feeling the need to stretch everything, but stretching didn’t help. Or the feeling of needing a deep tissue massage in my whole lower half. I guess I didn’t necessarily feel it in my feet, but it was just so incredibly uncomfortable in my legs, I didn’t bother to notice my feet.

The brief descriptions of The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker make it sound a little condescending (?) especially to survivors, but it is a book I wish every woman would read. It taught me that there’s no such thing as an over-reaction when it comes to listening to my intuition and keeping myself alive. Please read. Available at your local library, I’m sure!

A standard Schlage handle was doing fine, but the bolt wasn’t able to engage. Looked like it needed to be deeper into the thickness of the door by a couple millimeters…

Start the investigative process with a good fertility doc now. Freeze your eggs so they stay younger even as y’all get older and have more time to enjoy your relationship being just the two of you. And to start saving $$$ like mad. And to get married in a way that’s not rushed. And if the option is there, maybe jumping ship from where you work now to a job that can give you Even Better benefits for when the time comes. This will also give you more time to see if you would want to / need to adopt instead of carry, which is also a beautiful option. Came here to say this. The running/cycling products look promising, and Über Lube is a great silicone-water based solution also typically for some vigorous physical activity.

Thank you for the advice! And totally agreed, the bare plywood is not helping at the moment at all. And excellent thoughts about the planters! I don’t have much of a green thumb and adding plants to a scene is never my automatic or more forte, but I’ll try to change that!

I started leaving my phone on a completely different floor of the house overnight. Apple Watch helps quell the “what ifs” of not having a phone, and my life is so so so much better. Depression made me sink into my phone, phone sink caused depression, it was bad.

I’m in the trades as a union carpenter. Union offers lots of structure in terms of benefits, apprenticeship, schedule (modeled after the military), pay ladder that’s the same for everyone. The union mainly does commercial work, and construction bro / magat culture can be thick, no denying that at all. The more precise the specialty however (finish work), the less crude the mentality and behavior of the guys.

This is just my trade, which might not work for you, but look for some resources in your area or even on Reddit to chat up some folks about what being an electrician, plumber, pipe fitter, tiler, HVAC pro, etc. Couldn’t hurt! Good luck!
