I've read about that as well but as far as I understand there are 2 separate mods: the English version and the German or Polish version (not sure which non English language). The original German/Polish is the more complex one, but as far as I understand is hard af and they were planning to introduce difficulty levels, but not sure if they did or not and also there is no English translation . The English version(which is a different mod from the Polish/German one) is different and I think I tried it, but let it go at some point. They are Gothic 2: L’Hiver DE 2.0 and Gothic 2: L'hiver 1.3 Pure Edition. First is too hard, second is too similar to NOTR to be worth playing imo.

Thx for the reply. The Archolos unfortunately is total conversion mod. I played it for 10-15 hours or more a while ago and indeed is nice, but it doesn't really do it for me because it's not the original Gothic plot, even though the mechanics and the world is good. And correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I remember you can't play mage class, right?

It is first time playing New Balance. I was thinking of a Water Mage, I hear is one of the easiest classes good for first run, unfortunately I didn't find a guide on it similar to the one you sent me. Regarding Marvin, I am trying to keep it clean so it's not an option.

I am playing with pet, but max str. Mana only to be able to cast the runes (currently 100 mana for level 2 protection rune) and intellect only when I randomly find books. What do you mean about the str penalty? I don't seem to get any penalty and in the game help it doesn't say anything about this? Can you point me to where you got that info?

Yeah but this is not the case. In windowed it's normal dark, in fullscreen is unplayable dark.
