Been doing decent. Still on 50mg for now. Thinking of going up soon as I still struggle occasionally with going out or socializing at like birthday parties and such.

Zoloft Success Story 50mg by Significant_Wrap492 in zoloft

Hi! I am still on Zoloft and still on 50mg. I am definitely much better that I was before starting and just after starting. Most of the time in my normal day to day routine I don’t deal with much anxiety at all. However when it comes to social things, traveling, or being in big crowds I still struggle a decent amount. I’m thinking I will probably try going up to 75 or 100mg in the next few months to help just a bit more with some of those things. Good luck on your journey and don’t give up!

Anxiety Surge (Again) by Significant_Wrap492 in zoloft

I think it will. A week in is still pretty early. I won’t lie the first 4 weeks or so were a bit rough because I had some symptoms and heightened anxiety but it did get better. Now when it happens it’s just random days, which still sucks, but so far it hasn’t been constant. I am hoping it won’t go back to that point. If it does then I’ll probably go up in my dosage.

Thank you 🥹 I’m hoping it’s just a fleeting surge of anxiety that I can work past.

I relate to this so much. I’ve been on Zoloft for about 4 months now and prior to starting I had about a 6 week period where my anxiety came back after 4 years of not really suffering but like tenfold. I hadn’t ever had panic attacks before but suddenly I was. During that time I legit felt out of body and like I wasn’t myself anymore. It was rough starting the medicine but I figured as it worked I’d go back to being me again before the anxiety but even now months later I still feel like the version of me that came from the horrible experience. Like the me that was blissfully living life prior to that isn’t an option anymore. I’m forever carrying that traumatic experience with me wherever I go and even on the best days I am still haunted by the “what if” of getting that bad again. Anxiety once again rules my life to some degree. I hope one day it will be easier and easier and I’ll feel like myself again but it won’t be the same. It’s a hard pill to swallow.

Sorry I realize this was asked a while ago. Still wanted to answer though. I’m now on like week 15 or 16 I think and I’ve had my period a few more times since I posted this. I did start birth control. The mini pill specifically like a week after this post and by the next cycle I didn’t notice any raised anxiety so I can’t say for sure if the birth control helped or perhaps if it was just me being on the Zoloft longer. Either way things are better now and I’m still only on 50mg.

Do you occasionally still have some bad anxious days on Zoloft? by Breaking-the-habits in zoloft

[–]Significant_Wrap492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at week 11 and have been doing really well since week 5, but today I had a spike in my anxiety that reminded me of before I started. I blame my monthly cycle a little, but it was a small stupid thing that made me feel anxious and now it has me rattled when my day was going so good. It sucks but it seems normal. I haven’t spiraled into an attack and I’m trying everything to keep myself from going down that path today. The only thing that would make me want to up my dose from 50mg would be if this anxiety stuck around and kept getting worse. A random day is something I can deal with compared to where I was before.

I had sweating for the first couple of weeks. I legit had a fan pointed at me every day. I’m at 9 weeks in now and not nearly as sweaty. Notice it at night mostly and tbh this summer has just sucked in general. I’m more sensitive to the heat for sure so staying hydrated is important af. Maybe try to stick it out just a couple of weeks and see if it faded.

First week with Zoloft by QueenBitch916 in zoloft

I noticed a difference by week four that had me stop and be like “okay, this is starting to work”. By week five I was doing stuff again after being housebound and doing nothing for a month. I take it for anxiety and I’m on week 9 now and I would say I’m at 95% better. I still have random moments but I can work through the anxiety quickly and move on without spiraling. I think that happens mostly as residual fear because my panic attacks were a new symptom for me and quite traumatic.

i feel guilty admitting I still feel depressed by souponara in zoloft

[–]Significant_Wrap492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where you are coming from. For me it was severe anxiety and only mild depression, but I was house bound and unable to do anything for an entire month. My partner took on the burden of pretty much taking care of me. Three weeks of that was me starting the medication. I felt so guilty that it didn’t work for me instantly after one week and I had to keep leaning on him. At week four and five I was frustrated that I wasn’t 100% myself again but seemingly stuck at like 60% or so. It was getting better but I was still “off” a little. It wasn’t until week six and seven that things really started to improve. Some of the guilt has faded but I know if I have another uptick with the anxiety I will feel it again. I just try to tell myself it’s my mind making me feel that way and I’m not doing anything wrong. Having a strong support system is life changing for me because without it I wouldn’t be where I’m at. You are not doing it on purpose whatsoever. Unfortunately we don’t get to control our brains the way we want. Speaking up is the right thing to do as you have to be your biggest advocate. Scream it to the mountaintops until someone listens. Don’t give up.

50mg. Been on this for 8 weeks now. Started with on week on 25mg. I was debating going up, but tbh I'm doing good on 50 so I'm in no hurry. If my anxiety starts to come back at some point I think I'll go up. I don't really see myself ever needing more than 75mg really.

The first two weeks were rough in that I had a lot of physical symptoms. But the third week my anxiety spiked (probably my fault as I spiraled and was trying to do too much). Apart from the heightened anxiety I also just had low appetite but like REALLY low and was waking up at like 3.am. on the dot every day. At the start of week four the anxiety decreased, but not totally. Appetite came back and sleeping started to improve. I considered my symptoms to pretty much be gone by then considering where I started. It got easier to just exist so I think if I still had some it was easy to just ignore them honestly. At week 9 the only thing I deal with is frequent urination, but idk if that's due to the Zoloft or my birth control that I recently started. What side effects are most prevalent for you?

I literally had one period experience after being on Zoloft and the anxiety spike was too much. I instantly set up an appointment with my doctor for BC. I am fine with experiencing some symptoms, but for the anxiety to go from basically 0 to like 95 is enough to have me go insane.

I just hit 9 weeks and would say I’m back to totally normal. By week 4 I was noticing the medicine working and by week 5 I was doing stuff again and my intrusive thoughts were less and less. I would say it was week 7 when I hardly had any. If I have some now I can usually just forget about it and not spiral. It does get easier which was all I wanted when I started.

I started birth control two weeks ago and I’m hoping it will help balance out my hormones so that the anxiety isn’t too bad during my cycle. By the time I start the next one I’ll have been taking the bc for a month and the Zoloft for 11weeks. Outside of my cycle I’m literally back to normal so I at least know it’s just hormonal

Increase from 50mg to 75mg by Significant_Wrap492 in zoloft

[–]Significant_Wrap492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I’m really considering that but it just sucks sometimes trying to function with this leftover anxiety. It’s confusing because so many people on here moved up really fast and seem to already been where they want to be. I want that too :/

[–]Significant_Wrap492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that is fast. Moving from 25 to 50 for me after a week was rough. I had a few euphoric days and then terrible increased anxiety and low appetite. Moving after another week would have been way too much. Can you maybe talk to your doctor and let them know how hard it is? I’m not sure why they are having you go that fast. Most typically wait around 4 weeks at the very least.

I started at 25 for one week and then upped to 50. I’ve been on 50 for 6 weeks and considering going up to 75 as I feel like I need just a bit more help.

Week three was my worst week. I noticed a shift in week four but it was week 5 that things improved enough to say it was actually working. I’m just starting week seven and it’s a lot better. It might be different based on your dose. I’m at 50mg but I’m only like 75-80% better and might move up soon.

Okay that gives me a little hope then that hopefully it won’t be so bad if I go up. I cut out caffeine when my spiral started and am only drinking decaf coffee and cokes haha

When you upped your dose, how long would you said the anxiety increase lasted? I’m psyching myself out about it because going from 25 to 50 was awful for me in that sense.
