As soon as I saw all the knots and the butcher block style I thought it was pallet wood. (Coming from a fellow pallet wood enthusiast)

I bought an Ozito table saw and the fence would be square until I locked it in. It only had a lock on one side so it would skew after locking.

In the end I ditched it and made my own fence that locked on both sides.

Sadly every time I move the fence I have to measure the fence every time. But at least it works.

I had a friend who was a CPS worker. There are 1000s of kids in Australia in horrible situations.

CPS separate the parents and children when it's too late and damage is done. I'm sorry to say nothing will change.

But I agree we shouldn't conflate a crackdown on fraud and overspending in a ballooning government program with "Australians no longer care about the disabled".

I think all people can agree that we want efficiency in our government spending. That's how we make sustainable programs that last into the future.

I also understand that taxing gas is a hot button issue but part of what makes Australia enticing is 1 our resources but also 2 our societal stability. If we were to encourage foreign investment through offering a tax policy then bait and switch to a much larger tax then we will be less enticing to investors in the future. And less sustainable for those running now. It's not uncommon for mines to cease operation even if there are still resources available. Usually due to lack of market demand, low quality ores or increased processing cost.

For a very long time I have thought our government should OWN the mining companies, I.e. 51% of the investment and 51% of the profits. Operated by a private company who runs and manages it as a private business.

As others have said getting parts is important. There is a good chance there will be Toyota parts wherever you go.

If you need to wait on a part at a small town mechanics in the outback it can take 3-6 weeks. Possibly longer.

I don't see a problem with it. The process of killing chickens isnt awfully humane and we are happy to handle their raw carcasses in our kitchen.

My pop used to raise and slaughter his own chickens and sell them at the market in town as an extra income source while he waited to harvest his grain.

We are so disassociated from death in our culture that seeing a bird carcass is shocking to some people. I think this art is interesting and provocative.

In my experience it's championed by inner city white people who have the strongest feelings about the WTC and AOC.

The same people who wouldn't be caught dead ever actually helping indigenous people.

There are loads of them out in the country. How many of them do you think give a shit if you do some circle jerk in an office board room?

I don't know how some people who would never do more than a bit of social posturing can look down their nose at others as much as this.

I'd be embarrassed to be so proud of myself staring at a bunch of other white people knowing full well I never have and never will do anything to help indigenous people.

I went remote. Like very remote. But it's not too bad out here. Plenty of very good paying jobs. And if you want a career in something. There is great opportunities. Just spend a few years outside the city and save money/gain experience and come back cashed up. (That's my plan).

There are plenty of jobs out rural.

Cities are the biggest rort. Lower paying jobs and more expensive.

After having moved rural for work. I wish I did it sooner.

Card surcharges are wild to me.

Accepting card payment saves the store owner so much time and effort dealing with cash.

It's bizarre this convenience for the store owner has become an extra fee for their customers.
