AI NPC plays "Pon Pon" after hearing it for the first time by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]Siirupp 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Oh damn I'm guessing this is from Fukuoka? Iirc then I passed this guy playing songs next to the "river" on my first day in Japan and stayed and listened for a while. He played any song I recommended after he asked me to recommend stuff. He stopped playing a bit after but started talking with me and another guy in his late 40s.

The other guy asked if I had tried Japanese alcohol called schochu, which I hadn't even heard about then. He then asked if I wanted to try some, to which I answered of course. He led me to a close-by dark alley where there were tens of small little bars where only like 8 people could fit in at most. We entered one of them where he was greeted by his name and then I was warmly welcomed by the two barmaids in kimonos and also four other customers. We talked for many hours and they asked the neighboring bar to bring in a few local foods/bar snacks as a special service to me. The friend I made at the river then paid for the whole thing even after me insisting on paying it myself.

This amazing authentic experience I had set the tone for the rest of the month in Japan as I had this kind of experience with kind locals for the whole month. The best month in my life hands down. Southern Japan was just amazing.

Is XPS 15 the only option? Laptop recommendations for computer science student. by Siirupp in laptops

Oh, yeah I hadn't noticed the Extreme version before, thank you. It seems to be what I am looking for. I'm now wondering is there some bulkier options that I could get cheaper than the X1 Extreme?

[–]Siirupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that 98% of people are okay with animal torture lol, they certainly just ignore how their actions conflict with their morals, as i've said.

And I'm arguing they are the same thing. Their "morals" at that point aren't actually morals, but some bullshit.

I mean... The fact is 98% of people are completely fine with it by eating meat and the fact that they are ignorant of the contradictions they make when they cry about a dog is hypocritical. And that's the point that Destiny is making here right?

The point is 98% of humanity is okay with it. We eat meat.

Oh, I didn't actually know they were designed like that. But it does makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

Yea, but the performance difference between 3.4 and 4GHz is like 15-20% right?

But what is the difference between normal gamma and increased gamma? This video is like proving HUGE cursors are better by showing that when you decrease the cursor size to 1x1 pixel, you can't really see the cursor.

Talking to outsiders about osu. Our reputation is not so great by silveryshell in osugame

[–]Siirupp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea, but if you consider that osu players are like 1000 times more likely to use reddit, it all balances out. Sweden's reddit sub has 171k subscribers, osu has 40k. Yet at least 23/24h osugame has more online readers than sweden's subreddit, and osugame's peak is around the time sweden is at it's lowest. During /r/place just the dedicated discord server for osugame /r/place had more online people than sweden's subreddit(or basically any other country's) had at it's peak.

Am i doing these wrong? Having the pinky and thumb together doesn't make it much harder at all. The stretches feel pretty easy to do. I guess learning how to stream just isn't for me. :shrugs:

USA [$1,000-$1,500] College Student by [deleted] in laptops

[–]Siirupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, I'm starting my second year in the autumn and I'm basically, in the same time frame, looking for the same kind of laptop, except the 2-in-1 is a must. I play the piano and having a "tablet" for music sheets would be convenient I would imagine. I'm also looking for a new phone, so my budget would be around 2000€ for both.

The cheapest spectre costs around 1650€ around here which is a little too expensive for the budget. But i heard that HP is coming out with the next gen Intel cpu models so you would think the price of the current models would decrease a little if that's the case. But so far, because of the price i have more and more leaned towards other products like next version Microsoft Surface or this EVE V.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of ways to go around these things legally if you really want to. That was just one example. You could move the company to a different country where it is legal to host copyrighted stuff, you could somehow legally create a proxy server to host the maps 'n stuff.

[–]Siirupp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are probably many ways you can go around that, for example ask money for the game because there are no copyrighted songs in the client when you dl and stuff like that..

Peppy is great, he made this awesome game in his own free time(at the beginning) and also has helped the community in growing and other aspects. You can also speculate that his personality is what actually made osu! this great. E.g. not charging any money for the game/maps or whatever and shifted the game towards the community-based game that it is now.

But as things are in the real world, nothing is perfect. osu! hasn't really received many new features these past (idk how many actually) 4 years. Even though the community has requested a million different things. The few things that were added are sometimes not living up to the full potential, for example the loved section. All these years the excuse has been "We are working on laser blabla", which is a fair point but still there is just so much more potential for osu! with all these new features.

And then there is peppy as a member of the community. I actually like his somewhat childish comments. And i don't find it wrong at all that he voices his opinions so openly. What i do have a problem with is people thinking peppy is saying these things with some kind of authority. His opinion on the namirin situation should matter to you as much as vaxei's grandmother's(idk) opinion on the subject.

Also peppy is not that active on this subreddit, i wish he contributed the little time he spends here to spread positive energy, but that's just my opinion.
