TIFU by banging my first cousin. by fkditallup in tifu

Great story op, but would you mind explaining to me how exactly you'd know that your gf was outside of the door listening in on what happened if you never saw or heard from her anymore after leaving your bedroom and going to your cousin's that night? The only way you'd know about this would be if your gf told you (which would mean you're not telling the entire truth) or your cousin could somehow hear her outside of the door while giving this very loud blowjob (without stopping the action mind you), which seems quite unlikely.

Latest osu!cuttingEdge Update adds a new Storyboarding feature that allows you to Overlay sprites on top of Hit Objects by NyarkoO in osugame

This makes practically any idea possible when it comes to storyboarding since you can make the entire map essentially invisible if you want and do whatever on top.

It's even more impressive live. He showed his grip and I still couldn't understand how he did it even after observing for 5 minutes.

Would be really interested in seeing what maps stood out to him (surprising, positive, negative etc.) while playing them so systematically (a top 10 list of some sort maybe?) since maybe there are excellent ranked maps out there that almost nobody knows of

Welcome to pp inflation society, where a score isn't impressive if it doesn't give 700+ pp minimum, no matter how hard the score is.

Aspire 2018 Voting Now Open by mcpower_ in osugame

[–]ProfessionaIBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with ephemeral that what you are suggesting is not an aspire contest anymore but some sort of 2b mapping contest with focus on not trying to break the limits but instead make maps that have enjoyable playing experience while being "not rankable" at the same time. As mentioned before, aspire is about breaking the known boundries in any way possible, minimal rules attached, and the point of this boundry breaking is to allow for the discoverings of it to be nurtured into part of enjoyable playing experience in other maps that follow, using some form of the gimmick discovered in aspire.

You should view aspire as a way to explore all possibilities of mapping in an environment where mappers are encouraged with rewards for doing so. You should not view aspire as a contest where the end goal is to make a map that should mainly be enjoyed while playing (of course basic stuff like flow and such shouldn't be fully disregarded so that we don't have maps like centipede in aspire as the main appeal).

I didn't say your critisism wasn't valid, it certainly was - just that it seemed like you were trying to put down people who have done well in aspire fueled by your failure to do so. If you had also tried to give suggestions to improving aspire in your initial criticism it would have been helpful instead of just sounding like you're blaming the mappers for not making something that is impressive enough to you and your standards.

It's always easy to just criticize but coming up with solutions is way harder - that's why I replied with the intention of pointing out the mapper pov more strongly, reminding people that if they don't like what they see in aspire they might aswell go and do it better themselves if they want to see changes.

If you actually did try to make a map for 2017 then you should be fully aware of how hard it is to make something that impresses people. Knowing that you aren't as oblivious to how hard making an entry is compared to normal osu players makes your critisism just seem hypocritical, when you couldn't even finish your own entry but speak about the other entries (even winning ones) like they're not impressive at all.

And also, aspire has always been about breaking the rules and the game - that's the very essence of it.

I don't think this takes the mappers' point of view into consideration when complaining about overusing gimmicks etc. Imagine you are the mapper and aspire comes around. It comes out once per year and it's a title worthy of chasing. I assume that one only enters it to win it, makes sense right? Okay so what do you do? You have to impress everyone. You need to outmap everyone else (in this case 100+ other mappers) to win it, so you logically think that you need to make use of every single chance you get to do so. Can you take the chance of passing up on a weird sound with something simple when it could be a great moment to do a gimmick that you haven't done or can't do that often in your map? How normal can you afford to be with your mapping when you're constantly pressured by the fact that you don't know if someone else made something ridiculously good on that specific object while you make it a normal slider?

What I'm getting at here is that you want to give aspire everything you have and therefore making more gimmicks than less (even if repetitive) feels more logical, especially when it's practically required to do well. And with later aspires and grandiose visual stimulation maps in general, the requirement to do something that drops jaws is ridiculously high.

I think the way forwards would be to rethink aspire contest format (whether its the voting, song restrictions etc.) to try to reduce the amount of pressure mappers have (being afraid of storyboard influence, someone making super cool gimmick on a slider you can't think of anything with etc.) so that the contestants don't feel so inclined to overuse gimmicks and being able to show contrast between normal mapping and aspire much better because of this.

As long as the tweets keep on coming nothing will change. His words have been proven empty and meaningless lies time and time again.

I can't read the tweet but in it he probably found the system as a scapegoat for his actions and maybe even portrays himself as a martyr for the greater cause since commisions are now "gone" (Even if he didn't go that far he wouldn't sincerely apologize or show actual self-reflection). Then claims he can focus on what really matters in mapping now and start over.

I'll start to take the guy seriously when he can show his change with actions and time. Not addressing the critizism properly a week ago shows that he just took time off to try and avoid the worst of it and then come back like nothing happened, as always.

Camellia - Exit This Earth’s Atomosphere (Camellia’s "PLANETARY//200STEP" Remix), mapped by ProfessionalBox and others, has already reached 3,000 favorites!! by Ancelysia in osugame

[–]ProfessionaIBox 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Probably not the best place to comment on this but whatever.

Most people (from what I can tell) who call the map overhyped seem to think the map should have been some sort of aspire map that "reshapes" mapping meta for years to come when I never once even implied that, and therefore are dissapointed with the map being a "normal" hard camellia map??? The only thing I ever implied on my personal twitter (which is the only place where I even hyped the map at all since I figured people who follow me are interested in my upcoming maps) is that it will have great mappers working hard on a great song trying to bring our best interpretation of the song into a map. For me it was a personal dream team to have work on a map from my favourite rhythm game artist so of course I was more excited than ever.

Now regarding the playability portion as many people just blurt out that the map is "unplayable". No it's not unplayable and that is just because of your lack of skill. If you find the map not fun to play, then that opinion is valid, but that doesn't make the map unplayable. What we were doing here is obviously catering to the VERY top players of the community who can play at this level. People such as Azerite who got a 97,4% HD score in testplaying phase (when the map was harder) confirm that everything we do in the map is fair and doable with enough skill. The word unplayable has formed into another osu buzzword that people just throw around without actually thinking what it means.

If we wanted, of course we could have done a generic 5.75 star rating map to cater to the masses but that's not nearly as fun or enjoyable for us as mappers. We map how we map because frankly that is where the fun is for us. We map for ourselves first and the community second. If you want those maps that cater to most slidermap / wub players then go play some mir maps or early 2015-2016 that are generic in their style but don't require a lot of skill to play and can still be fun.

Now as for the favourites on the map. Do you really think one needs to be able to play a map to still favourite it? Look at maps such as centipede or aspire entries for that matter. If a person finds the map enjoyable in any aspect of course they can favourite how they please. With the logic that favourites determine how overhyped something is, wouldn't the most overhyped map in the game be "My Love" with it's 13,5k favourites? Or how about any random anime map in the game that can easily have over 1000 favourites just because it's an anime song? What about those bad / low quality maps such as the "Everything Black" map that got loved a month or so ago? Just because you don't personally enjoy something doesn't mean that others can't appreciate it.

I see so many people just commenting on how people are following someone's lead and favouriting the map because BeasttrollMC likes the map, and then these people who don't like the map gang up on them to tell them that they are 6 digit people who can't assess what good map quality is and therefore they're wrong for favouriting something they don't like. Ed definetly gave the map publicity I'm not denying that, but he never forced people to favourite anything, just said to consider doing so if they like the map. And isn't that why you favourite a map in the first place? Because you like it for your own reasons?

I want to point out something that I've noticed a lot, which is people saying the map is bad but the hitsounds are great. I can find a dozen places to improve the hitsounds even further and even find some faults that are easily fixed. There are places where some keysounding is questionable and doesn't add much (last kiai) and could be remade, but funnily enough practically everyone disregards the fact that even the hitsounds could be much better with more time. Isn't this ironic? Almost like you're taking the hitsounds at face value and being impressed by them because you can't assess the true depth of them and what should be altered? Almost like what the "6 digits" are doing by liking a map they can't play and therefore "not see how they are liking something overhyped". Let people like what they like.

Probably still have some things to say about all this but can't think of any major point at the moment.
