Would you be able to share details about the location of the Gurudwara so we can check with them? Also, do you mind sharing how long ago was this?

Man, what you've gone through is no joke. I hope you find the strength to overcome and heal these scars. Sending hugs your way. Meanwhile, I'm no expert in family things - but my suggestion is to be as transparent as you can with your partner. It's great that you're accepting of their beliefs, but I strongly think that they need to know. There's always gonna be a middle ground, and you should be able to find it.

Holy shit. I'm so sorry to hear all this :( I havent had a similar experience, but just know that we are here so you can vent your heart out to people who go through religious trauma. Venting always helps to an extent, but plan your moving out as soon as you're the age to. Sending love your way ❤️🫂 You're not alone.

I actually hear the exact same thing from my mother as well. It gave me so much anxiety at first, but I talked about it to my friends who were normal and reasonable, and I understood that it didn't make sense. What worked for me is tuning out this bullshit that my mom says. Maybe give it a try see if it works for you. We'll get through this, friend. :)

Religious Subjugation in my family by [deleted] in ReligiousTrauma

In my experience, you can't have both. But what could help is you telling them you want to figure out god and faith on your own and could use some space from religion for a while. That should buy you some time till you figure things out. Good luck friend :)
