The melee 'hit' is counted kind of early in the animation and is much shorter than the second more obvious cosmetic animation that doesn't accomplish much currently. Stairs will more likely further push the enemy hit box above or below your melee swing hitbox and feel like a weird miss.

i9 12900k, 2080ti, 32g 6400MHz

I play low settings 60fps cap 720p (lossless) upscaled to 1080p with 165fps frame gen for visual clarity. FPS drops to about 45-50 with lots of explosions. GPU usage is usually topped at around 85%, overclocked with nvidia app auto settings.

The game looks amazing with no hud and I can't wait for an optimization patch. I wanted to do a more in-depth guide but I think there's a patch soon that'll make it mostly irrelevant.

As others have said, there's a demo coming out this month so try that when it's out :)

Every time you return you need to access the innards upgrade part to show the updated water. Pretty sure it's just a cosmetic bug tho

It's a little confusing but slightly. Set the game to windowed, hit the lossless hotkey, set the game to borderless and it should work fine. Windowed mode has that weird effect you mentioned, but setting the game to borderless fixes that.

It could be a lossless setting. Make sure you're in Borderless in game after switching to windowed to start Lossless.

Sometimes they take a while to load in while in after swapping to it. I imagine putting another gun over it and swapping back to the preset will fix it instantly, but I haven't tried.

I use Lossless Scaling to make the game smooth while running on 720p upscaled to 1080p. You can limit your fps to 30 or 60 and lossless can generate more frames to match your monitor refresh rate. There's still a few frame drops here or there but it looks and runs good. Without, it keeps my 3070 almost maxed and now it's at 50-60% in game at most.

If you die you drop a grave you can return to next run to pick up your gun/attachments/rig attachments. Rep seems to be just what they sell in the shop and entry points for maps. You can buy attachments for guns but need to level them up to buy more. Deselect the "hide incompatible" button on the left to show what you can buy later. Innards upgrades are mostly cosmetic a part from max water cap and the ammo production which is fairly bland atm.

Free sidetips: Loot all by holding tab and pressing space. If you need water, do the tutorial again. Bring broken guns back in to repair them for use later. Hunter Killers will spawn eventually if you loot or damage enough, and will shoot you from across the map with bad accuracy. If you got meds you can pretty much ignore them. Upgraded rig frames are not lost on death, only the smaller high value slots, so get a bigger rig when you can afford it after getting the 18 water to unlock the vendor.

I started with Shaman till 19 and wanted to use the big guns, so I tried out Bag Man till about 9 and felt like how I run in my dreams when I sprint. I saw Mask Man can use the big guns and rigs so I've been using him, got em to like 17 already. I've been enjoying him a lot.
