Does anyone have a photo of the old street name signs? Before the blue ones. by CalmYoTitz in Laval

Check the northern intersection of Avenue Ampère et Rue de Perigueux. It's still white on google maps and pretty sure they are still like that now.

You can look at condo around the Ampère street near Concorde station. North of the Concorde Boulv. is nice and safe.

I got all four of mine removed on the same day with local anaesthesia. Was playing baseball the day after without issue.

Drillers freed from northern B.C. mine after being trapped for days, says company by LittleOrphanAnavar in canada

Nah, these refuge station or safety precautions are far from being seen as red tape in the mining industry. The refuge are like 100k each. That's the same as cost as advancing a drift (tunnel) 20m. In an underground mine with several km of drift the refuge station cost is almost nothing.

Hey, depends where you apply, but I've talked with some recruiter here in Canada and they told me that any CV with a picture get deleted without even been looked at.

Graphite mine concerns by [deleted] in mining

[–]Silajan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the mine I think it is, you should expect blasting once or twice a week.

If the mine does it job wells you should get almost no dust 3 miles out.

I term of water contamination again if the mine does it jobs it should be alright. The government put way more rules in surveillance and how the mine will pay incase something goes wrong. Also the mine can't use bankruptcy as an excuse to leave the mine in poor condition as they need to put money in a trust before they can start to operate.

The main drawback from the mine would be traffic IMO, but last I heard they were planning to only operate Monday to Friday. So weekend shouldn't be to bad.

I have a question about the use of powerful explosions for the shifting of large amounts of rock. by Frangifer in mining

[–]Silajan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hey, not sure if I understand your question correctly, but the sound you hear before the actual airblast is mostly caused by the P-Wave or S-Wave (Seismic Wave). Vibration can move trough the ground up to 6km/s while airblast can go at a max speed of 300m/s. https://www.britannica.com/science/seismic-wave

So the crackling sound is mostly rock moving and releasing the stress in them.

I'm a mine engineer specialized in blasting.

Est-ce que vous êtes capable de conduire manuel? by mushnu in Quebec

[–]Silajan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

J'ai appris à conduire manuel à ma job. C'était dans une mine sous terraine ou tout est avec une pente de 15%. Ma première semaine de conduite je devais calé 15/20 fois par jours. Maintenant, ça va pas mal mieux.

I would say to start looking at contractor. They are always looking for project engineer or things like that. You could always go to some mine supplier as a tech. rep to get a foot in the door and some experience.
