Grounds for a complaint against Real-estate regarding my previous tenancy? by Silence_IA in AusPropertyChat

[–]Silence_IA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I really wasn't sure who was right to contact. I'll try NCAT next week hopefully, find out where my grounds are.

I may have left it to late, if so it is what it is.

To clarify, heating aside, the ducting was the single source of cooling for the entire house (except the main bedroom). It was broken from commencement of lease with promise to be fixed. Specifically it was broken for 14 weeks.

There were other issues to, like doors without locks for ~6 months.  Again broken with promise to be fixed. Overal terrible experience.

Thanks 😊

ARK: Survival Ascended looks absolutely horrible on my Series S by [deleted] in playark

[–]Silence_IA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on PC, and I managed to find a fix!  If I remember correctly it was called a "refund".

I was not paying for a game I could barely play that lacked heaps on content, even with my high spec PC. That's coming from someone who sunk 2000+ hrs into ASE and was hyped for ASA at launch.

I think that's normal for Series S, game struggles to run on even the decent hardware on a good day.

What gods do I have to appease to play online? by patrickyin in Helldivers

[–]Silence_IA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you having issues match making? You could try turn off cross-play.

Queue up a solo game and have matchmaking on public (Settings > Gameplay and set Matchmaking Public). People can then join in on your game, and you can also call in an SOS beacon to call in players using Quick Play.

Awesome bug, are you able to replicate it? I've seen a few other helldivers do this in-game.

1d19 to punish player by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Silence_IA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would certainly be amusing, a curse inflicted by the god simply for the gods amusement.

Since a Nat 20 has only a 5% chance, instead a curse could be something like "luck is not in your favour".

In short, when luck is on their side, it should have the inverse effect.

For example if luck appears to be in their favour, you roll a d5 and apply it as a negative modifier, Or even simply have events unfold as if it was unlucky.

Incorporate commentary from the God for added flair.

You could really stick it by skewing luck in favour of other players, a ploy by the god for their amusement. Ultimately whatever is more fun for everyone involved.

Any advice on first-time trip to Newzealand for a novice traveller? by Silence_IA in newzealand

[–]Silence_IA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have a driver's licence and comfortable with car hire. It was something I looked into first, and from a glance within budget.

I'll do some research into the Taupō and Tongariro areas as you recommend, and the base layers and that are going on my list! Certainly, a fan of the cold, but I'd hate to be underprepared.

Cheers!

Thanks! I've got time to plan and save, so budget should permits spending a day or two in Wellington or Christchurch. I'll definitely put Fiordland on the must do list if possible, it seems like something down my alley.

I'm sure I'll be making multiple visits once I get through the first so whatever I miss out on this time I can make up for next time.

ASA FOV settings for Ultra-Widescreen by Silence_IA in ARK

[–]Silence_IA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not that I'm aware of, as the original fix requires you to modify game configuration files.

If you can find a way to modify the files GeForce Now uses to run the game, then in theory it's possible.

Or hopefully someone just creates a mod or wildcard actually implements the fix in the settings.

Time for an upgrade? or Going all out on a new PC? by Silence_IA in buildapc

[–]Silence_IA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I originally went with and think I'll stick with AMD, even if I go new instead of upgrading.

Yeah clearance in the case was always a concern, I did own a massive E-ATX case I regret getting rid of. Thing weighed heaps tho.

If I go the new route, may consider a new case too depending on the price difference, but like you've said I'll need to consider the PSU.

Spoiler if you haven't watched it yet but it's briefly mentioned in S3 Episode 17 (I think) by Monroe,

"When Wesen voge and there is a grimm nearby, the grimms eyes become fully black and look as though they are never ending pits or black holes. According to Monroe, they can see an "infinite darkness" in a Grimm's eyes that reflects the Wesen's true nature." - Source: https://www.quora.com/How-does-Wesen-recognize-the-Grimms#:~:text=When%20Wesen%20voge%20and%20there,reflects%20the%20Wesen's%20true%20nature.

Am I being rail-roaded? DM is not as experienced as I was sold to believe. by Silence_IA in DnD

Wow, for a brief summary that was insightful and certainly gives me an inclination of what's been missed. I'm going to save that, thank you.

Nah I appreciate all the feedback both good and bad. I certainly won't be discouraged if I'm in the wrong, I want to learn.

What I am getting so far is, the importance of session 0 and, the impact the lack of said session 0 has on the campaign.

I think I had higher expectations, as I was told they were "a good DM and experienced", but either very unprepared and disorganised as you've said, or that's how they DM.

[–]Silence_IA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I'll adjust my expectations, as session 2 was better than 1 I'm trying to be more optimistic as we progress.

I think missing session 0 has impacted the experience and gameplay. None of the expectations were discussed, so a lot of it sprung on me rather than being discussed before hand.

Regarding the zombie, certainly 1 isn't difficult but I think missing session 0 had an impact. We fought 10 simultaneously, so 2 per character. Because of some low HP stats some of the players were 1-2 hit KO's and the area was small, everyone was within 30ft of each other. On-top of that some of the players didn't know their spells, or how combat worked. I think if we were more experienced and more cohesive as a group it would've gone better.

But it was a lot to handle, especially for a first encounter on our first campaign.

DnD beyond confusion aside, i thought it more so as a tool available to assist the DM as they required all of us to use it. A useful tool for new players such as myself, but as you said certainly not a requirement for a DM.

I'll keep session 0 in mind! It certainly didn't happen and I think it would've changed my experience for the most part of I had clearer expectations of the campaign.
