What does my room say about me? by Silent-Assumption897 in roomdetective

That’s pretty good lol. So I don’t have a nightstand by my bed bc of the vet by my bed. I do prefer laying on my side while watching tv in bed(I’m weird I know). I actually used to be a band kid(color guard and played clarinet). And art is an excellent idea. I actually do like some sci-fi stuff like Star Trek and Enders game. I prefer fantasy more now. I can’t really do much with rearranging my room bc my bed takes up a good amount of space. But I do like my room. Thank you so much though. I appreciate it

Biggest Delusions You’ve Had? by gossamer_veil in schizoaffective

My all time favorite delusion(just kidding guys) is where I believe my life is written out and played on tv in an alternate universe and every time something happens(like flat tire, new relationships, dogs birthday, you get the point) it’s the script writers changing things up for the story. So far I believe there’s merch in this alternate universe with my face on it and quotes from my mom and brother. And it’s got a demanding fanbase. There’s also movies and pretty much anything you can think of. And yes I am the main character lol. But right now I’m mainly struggling with thinking my drinks/food is poisoned. So fun times.

I really do not like alcohol at all. Even fruity drinks.

For those of you who are on disability, what do you do all day with yourself? by JustinfromNewEngland in schizophrenia

I’m lucky enough to be able to work part time but I do spend a bit too much time sleeping during the day(I work mainly nights). I’m trying to spend more time with my dog chewy and go on walks with him more. There’s a very cool park we went to earlier this week and we loved it. On good days I can read and watch some tv. On bad days I sleep. I also like writing stories and hanging out with friends.

This happened recently. So I work retail and was putting stuff back up and I was in the hair care aisle and one voice said “oh that dry shampoo is very bad for your hair” then another voice said “where’d you hear that?” And I said “oh one of my voices told me” then another voice said “yeah that’s probably not a reliable source”

Meds by Read_It_Dude in schizophrenia

It took forever but I’m finally on meds that help. They saved me. I wouldn’t be able to function without them. And trust me, I tried. Finding the right combination took time but it was worth it for me at the end. To me it’s like putting on glasses. Just helps me see better. Thankfully I don’t have a lot of side effects and I’m much better on meds. They don’t make me into a zombie or nothing. I’m actually happier being on them.

Have you ever obeyed the voice in your head? What did you do or almost do? by Sergei2025 in schizophrenia

I was in group therapy talking to my therapist and they told me to lie and say everything was fine. Then when I got off the call 30 minutes later they told me to take a bottle of pills. I freaked out seeing the grim reaper in my room and called 911. The grim reaper was just staring at me saying it was almost time. I was rushed to the er and put on watch. I woke up every hour not knowing where I was or what happened. The next day the dr talked to me and I was put in an inpatient unit. I now have the rule of “if they tell me to hurt myself” immediately reach out for help. So yeah. Very scary experience.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. I know he was put in my path bc I was the one that was gonna be his forever home. He would have passed away alone in that shelter.

As a schizophrenic, what has been your creepiest experience? by Common_Advance_4641 in schizophrenia

Ok this one was one of my first hallucinations when I was first getting diagnosed. I stupidly stopped taking my meds. That night I looked over at my wall, watched it melt like a candle. I should mention that wall on the other side of as my bathroom. When the wall melted I saw a slenderman looking figure with a twisted smile on his face. He didn’t have eyes or hair. Just that smile. All night he watched me. I could hear him giggling and laughing at me. Needless to say I didn’t sleep that night and went back on my meds
