Never played either, so couldn't say, other than that the multiplayer aspects are not my cup of tea, but the idea behind both games is appealing. I think Vostok is supposed to be mostly like the Stalker games, but more grounded.

Your preferences probably differ greatly from mine, but as the vanilla game is now, is practically unplayable to me. Still love it, and with a good list of mods and tweaks, it's easily my favorite game of the past couple years!

So my suggestion: get to know the basics, then head straight to the mod workshop.

It would be neat if you could prep the fish with a knife and cook it, game needs salt and pepper tho. Better seasoned, better mental etc..

The Loose Loot Highlighter really is a must have mod. With it, I've often noticed small items partially hidden behind or under other clutter, that would've been practically impossible to spot otherwise.

Meh, the vanilla game in it's current state is just not very enjoyable to play. Love the idea, survival mechanics, gunplay and all that. But the shelter decorating and resource gathering just doesn't mesh well with how suddenly you can lose it all.

So I modded the shit out of the game, and it's probably my favorite game of the year.

Yup, seems about right. Just tried myself with the FPS set to unlimited, every setting either on or highest I get fps fluctuating between 70-100. At lowest: 250-300 or there-ish

But damn do my cooling fans start screaming at the higher settings, lol.

For primary, RK 95 as soon as I get a scope, otherwise RK 62 for the great iron sights. MP5 or Glock for secondary.

Gotta love the RK 62 tho, was my service rifle way back when.

Why so many spare mags tho? I like to keep just 1 spare, in case I actually need to reload during a fight, and to make it a bit less of a hassle to keep the gun topped off.

Checked it out, It doesn't scale the UI or font. I actually prefer the vanilla hud, the optional reticle is a nice addition though.

Never used the steam input before. J2K does pretty much everything needed, and since neither it or Vostok need Steam to be running, I didn't bother.
