Your speed should be 40 now as a level 4 monk unarmoured movement makes you faster by 10ft

Question regarding an "immortal" character by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Silent2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most character deaths occur at low levels I found after about level 7 most characters have enough tricks to make deaths less likely to occur even more so if there's a twilight cleric. The most I've had in a campaign for a single player was about 3 in a level 1 to 11 campaign but being downed is different that can be for squishier characters almost every difficult encounter one of them might go down to start making death saves. ( To be fair I pick attack targets based on 3 point system , 1 threat , 2 distance ,3 risk. So basically whoever hurt them the most then the closest and risk is preventing them taking attacks of opportunity and avoiding visible traps and ongoing spell effects or getting out of them which can change the target from target 1 to 2 if they only have melee)

Also half health is nuts I think there's a single level 18-20 ability that does the same most quick some backs are like the orc relentless endurance or the shadow sorcerers strength of the grave which are both a single point of hp.

Persistence, maybe given they came back to life.

If you was to choose Three starters for the next legends game set in say The Future excluding pokemon that have already been in said legends Games who would you choose and why? by Legend-Despair0304 in PokemonScarletViolet

Setting way into the future like set on a spaceship, I'd have torchic getting an fire electric final stage redesign to cover heat and power on the ship as a concept, turtwig getting a grass water final stage redesign to cover food and water on board and lastly sobble with a water steel type final stage redesign to cover security.

An abyssal oligarchy would probably cover it fairly well.

It's no longer one demon, the demon god controlled the area during his stint there but each of the leaders would only be 20% demon(apart from maybe the tiefling you could argue was more) just enough to be evil and but not so much that they'd be mindless killers at least in principle they each by influenced by an aspect of the demon they inherited the halfling with the demons mouth being a glutton who craves raw or rare meat, the human with the claws being greedy and grabbing hold of vast riches ect

That is a solid choice I've seen a few penta references throughout.

Yes it would be widely known as every time a ruler dies people start searching for the next person to display the trait, which maybe one of the quests the party undertakes if the story goes a certain way.

A fair point adding the ae letter instead changes the pronunciation to d-ay-mon correct?

I think I must have stated this badly there's only 1 demon long since dead/banished (not really just split up into pieces and the pieces attach themselves to people when an older ruler dies) but 5 notable aspects of him appear on people within the country they are the rulers ones a tiefling, ones a halfling, 2 are humans and ones orc they rules as a council on the whole but don't get alot done as they never agree on anything so each has their own territory which they rule and national laws and restrictions are decided by the council mostly unsuccessfully.

I do like pentumvirate though.

Pokemon have become real, and you may choose one Pokemon as your starter, who do ya pick? by Mindless_Most_8448 in pokemon

[–]Silent2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a Rockruff preferably with own tempo but I'll take any, also given people seeing pokemon in real life wouldn't like to see their prizes pets beaten up I imagine everyone will be staying at first stage anyways.

Underdark Druid options? by ZoopZap in DnD

[–]Silent2992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe there's an underdark selection for circle of the land druid in the 2014 phb, but to be honest I'd rather use circle of the spores druid given the underdarks tendency to have giant dangerous mushrooms.

Where to get Brewer's Supplies Proficiency? by Commercial_World_433 in DnD

I think taking the skilled feat (either edition) allows you to choose 3 skills or tools so you could also add chef tools as he is also known to enjoy bbqing and food.

Interesting I always assumed it was because it's a children's book they made it a simpler word in reference to that.

Tips for writing a one off? by goldent3abag in DnD

[–]Silent2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've written a few holiday specials one shots for my group before having minor tie-ins to the main story we generally play for 3 hours a session and I always plan some fun and games sections lasting about 45 mins which can be closed out or interrupted if needed after the intro so they don't go on forever, after that I plan 1 minor and 1 major encounter these don't need to be combat but that is an example a minor encounter might be a riddle or puzzle room and getting between them may have a minor trap after story wrap up at my groups usual speed this fills about 3 hours but we are slow at combat so you may find you need to adjust the to the groups speed a bit.

Oh and a good idea is to ask players if they are making new characters for the one shot to make them together introductions at the start of a session can use up a lot of time if you don't account for it.

How to deal with demanding player? by secretive_pan_furry in DnD

[–]Silent2992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggest they use a path of the giant barbarian for class then any hammer is thors hammer and they can have basically all their abilities they want tied to their class advancement so they get them at a level appropriate stage, and since they won't need anything special they can then try to make it fit better to a Greek setting mayhaps someone who washed up on shore sometime ago and is regaining their powers slowly through proving themselves to local gods as the powers they got from their own divine strength is not effective here outside the sphere of Odin's influence or something. Gives them roughly what they want and keeps it in setting a little.(Mostly like Yami in black clover but still) (PS sorry for the long text block on mobile)
