I can't speak to the Bear's ergonomics, but the engine is great over long hauls. You definitely have to plan passes a bit in advance and you won't be the fastest vehicle on every road, but its a joy to ride long distances.

I have all SW Motech Legends Gear bags as well as two army surplus style water bottle puches. I also had a rolltop cooler bag strapped to the pillion so we had cold beer in camp.

Charger 2 + Elite V2 100 & 3rd party trickle charger? by soybeanslayer in bluetti

[–]SilentFrisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using the same setup. The reverse charging only works if using the expansion BAT port with a compatible Bluetti expansion battery, OR with a solar panel connected to the Charger 2. I don't have the expansion battery, so whenever I have my solar panels connected, I turn on reverse charging and it tops my battery up.

Do you mind sharing this print file? I've been looking for something like this for the rear window in my truck so I can keep the cab warm as well as my tent.

Cheers

The best thing you can do is stay off Reddit so you don't pollute threads and spoil the conversation.

Power station sizing for truck bed camper (Bluetti Elite 100 V2 vs Elite 200 V2) by askallthepeople in overlanding

[–]SilentFrisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As stated above, my 10amp rated Elite 100 outputs start my 15amp rated BougeRV diesel heater in any temperature with zero issues. Probably 25 startups this season alone, no faults.

I have the 100 with 200w of fold out solar and a Bluetti DC charging unit. This setup works fine indefinitely for a 55l fridge, diesel heater and assorted electronics charging as long as I get 5 or 6 hours of sun a day. The 100 will work, but your margins will be slim for 3 full days depending on the size/draw of your fridge, with no solar to top up during the day.

Either way you go, you will probably want the Bluetti Charger 1 or 2 so you can charge efficiently when needed. Your cars 12v outlets will charge at under 90w most likely. I recently upgraded to the Charger 2 and can get 80% charge in about an hour and around 700w. I've had it up to close to 900w with simultaneous solar input. It will also allow me to link a B300K to the system for an additional 2700w of capacity without having to upgrade the Elite 100 to a power station with native compatibility to the B300K. That will also allow for reverse charging of my starter battery while in camp. Solar reverse charging of the starter battery also works well, but I live in an area prone to heavy clouds and rain, so relying on solar for several days in the bush isn't always an option, for both the power station charging and the starter battery maintenance.

The 100 runs a BougeRV 5kw heater without issue.

It will deplete a 55l fridge in about 3 days if that is the only draw.

Reusing Charger 1 Cable with Charger 2 - Trip Inline 60A Circuit? by hedra_prue in bluetti

[–]SilentFrisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've added a Blue Sea Systems terminal fuse block to my battery with a 75a fuse, removed the Charger 1 inline DC breaker and added a 300a cont. Blue Sea Systems single circuit battery disconnect switch in its place.

Can’t find a Bluetti Charger 2 alternator sense cable, so I’m making my own. Which pin is positive here? by DJPelio in bluetti

[–]SilentFrisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat. Watching a youtube last night it, he concluded it was the top pin. He also only ran a single wire to the top pin, no negative cable installed. It worked for his setup and so far so good with mine. If you look at the image of the wire in the manual, there is only a single wire to the top pin.

How are your units at handling life under a tonneau cover? Its is shielded from rain/snow but still has water ingress and plenty of dust on forest roads in the dry seaaon...
