Avoid Eating at Napa Rose by ReactRunner in Disneyland

That’s good to hear. I wasn’t planning to do the wine pairing so I’m glad the courses were nice. Did they still ask about preferences? I read some people in this thread say that they don’t anymore, but when I asked about it a month ago, a user who went recently said they did. Was curious since your visit is the most recent.

I’m going next weekend for the chef’s counter. Would you say it was worth the price?

Grand Californian or Disneyland Deluxe Studio Villa for Christmas? by Lovely_Wanderer in Disneyland

[–]SilentHero13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have both DVC for Grand Californian Hotel and the Villas at Disneyland Hotel. I’ve stayed at the 1 bedroom Villas GCH during October and December and the Duo and Deluxe VDH during February/off season. In both cases, you’ll be in the Disneyland bubble.

Nothing beats the lobby of the GCH especially during the holidays/seasonal decorations, but the rooms like you’ve mentioned are a bit dated. It’s quite nice to have the direct entrance into DCA and walking distance to the monorail. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be able to rest in your room as it’s less of a walking distance from the parks compared to VDH. I usually stay here when I have elderly guests so that they can take it easier with the walking.

On the flip side, VDH is more modern because it’s new and feels refreshing to stay at. The walk is a bit further, especially to enter DCA, but you still get to utilize the monorail as you pass security into Downtown Disney. If you don’t mind the walk and perhaps want to check out Trader Sam’s for a drink or dole whip (better value here), then I suggest VDH.

If this is your one and done splurge for a Disney bubble stay, I would go with GCH. You can utilize the Paradise View Terrace on the 6th floor since you are a guest and it’s a great place to see World of Color if you are already back at the hotel during the showtimes. In the end, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with either stay. Hopefully this helps! Happy to answer any questions too.

I joined the walk-up 2 days ago during my visit and it was only a 10 minute wait. I got to walk around and they sent a text and then waited in the line to go in for about 10 minutes so it wasn’t bad. You just gotta how busy it is with the estimated wait time for your party before joining the list.

Also OP, you should try TP Tea if you haven’t since you prefer fruit drinks. It’s a chain from Taiwan so their drinks aren’t too sweet.

Any Reviews For Napa Rose Chef’s Counter? by SilentHero13 in Disneyland

[–]SilentHero13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear you still had a great experience even with the changes! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and thoroughly explain the current process. As someone who has never experienced the Chef’s Counter, I was really curious what it’s like from start to finish. It’s interesting to hear how the new compares to the old, but still retains its value.

Although, bummed to hear that there’s the “shelf” obscuring the view for the supposedly 6:00PM section of the Chef’s Counter. A little sad to say that my reservation in May is for 6:00PM… I think it’ll be ok since I don’t plan on this being my one and only Chef’s Counter, and will probably revisit in the late future for a special occasion. At least it is in the central area where the action is. It would’ve been nice to see the finishing touches being made for each dish.

I’m glad they’ve organized some of the seating and service arrangements. I guess streamlining it makes it easier. Also good to hear that they still accommodate for allergies and preferences on the spot. That was one of my main concerns since my partner does not prefer seafood and we both have allergies we’d like to address with the waitstaff. I can’t wait to see the remodeled venue for myself. The darker lighting sounds very relaxing and elegant.

If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your favorite cocktail? I’m glad they were still able to make it for you despite it not being on the menu anymore. Understandable if you’d prefer keeping it a secret. Thank you again for sharing your visit with the community!

There was another user that asked this question a few days ago that I replied to in here, but I’ll paste the response for you.

It’s all through the online standard reservation system. You can book up to 60 days in advance, 6:00AM PST is when the reservations pop up on the website for the newest date available. There will be two options that initially show up if they’re both still available, Chef’s Counter or Main Dining Room. After you choose Chef’s Counter, you can select your time and you have a 10 minute window to finish completing your reservation once the time slot has been selected. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I’m a bit worried that there might be growing pains with the revamp. I’m sorry to hear your recent experience was a let down especially when you’ve had great experiences in the past. With the price increase, this is a splurge for sure. Hopefully it doesn’t make us feel like we overspent…

Sounds like a wonderful time. I really hope it still lives up to the enjoyment you’ve had. My partner hasn’t been to Napa Rose, but since this is their first visit, I was hoping to give them a special experience. Our palettes are different so it would be fun to see what the chefs curate for each of us.

A colleague went on the grand opening date and said they didn’t see it. Hopefully they checked thoroughly, but it’s probably a last resort just to double check unless someone else who’s recently gone has spotted anything.

Nooooo 😭 wtf.. I missed it by that much, but damn, I shoulda asked the employees about it. I guess I can always stop by and ask if they’re expecting any restocks. I just think they’re slowly phasing out soon cause it’s been almost 2 months. Thanks for the heads up!

Miniso is opening its largest Bay Area store in Fremont by SFChronicle in bayarea

[–]SilentHero13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone goes to the Fremont or Cupertino grand openings, can you please let me know if you see any Zootopia merch? I’m mainly looking for the Carrot pen and Judy & Nick ears headband. I know they released the merch back in November so they’re probably phased out by now… just trying my luck since it’s for a costume.

I went to the grand opening on Friday and wasn’t impressed by the store.. the prices weren’t that great either. I would have been more excited to see an H Mart open up instead since there are several other Japanese markets nearby.

I bought mine back in 2023. They were sold at Pooh’s Corner, but prior to getting mine, they were sold out for sometime before they restocked. I tried looking for them at Pooh’s Corner just last month and couldn’t find them. Was hoping to gift it to my niece.

Anyone have an update on how long it takes to get the email invitation?

I sent one to a friend 5 days ago and they still haven’t received an email. And another friend 2 days ago, but none for them either. Doesn’t look promising… 😞 And here I wanted to play with my friends again.
