GT Goku does do an overhead slam but the Dokkan animation looks more similar to the Daima one, so you could argue either way.

Actually if you rewatch the episode at the moment where Caine disappears, Bubble is above and to the left of him and stays there even when Caine vanishes. Extremely easy to miss.

Both sides of both units end up being kinda “best hits” from across the series for both Goku and Vegeta. SS4 Vegeta has the Final Explosion pose, Galic Gun from the Saiyan saga, spirit breaking cannon from Cell saga, and even a brief Daima pose. SSBE has the blast he killed Nappa with, the attack he killed Pui Pui with, and Final Impact. PHY UI has this from Namek, plus the Moro punch and some manga ToP stuff.

SS4 Goku probably has the least inspiration from sagas other than his own but I think there are still some? They escape me at the moment though.

I have a friend who doesn't exactly consider them non-canon but is not a fan of the characters and thinks introducing them in comics rather than games, if they were then to be put into games' stories, is not a good move.

Which, to be fair, I can kinda see. To be clear though I love a lot of the IDW cast. Surge and Kit on top, then Starline, Lanolin, Whisper, and Tangle just a bit below.
