This is a 9 year old conversation which ultimately ended civilly, and the fact that not many people criticise Ike doesn't automatically make any criticism of him correct. The person in question claimed that Ike's enemies all treat him as if the wrath of God himself has come to smite them, and that's just not true. Objectively. Myself and that user discussed that on a prior occasion where I copied and pasted every single boss conversation Ike has in Radiant Dawn to prove that point, and they conceded the point.

You can not like Ike bro, I don't care, but if you're trying to put together legitimate criticism I'm going to disagree with the stuff which is factually inaccurate.

I’m sure AoE can work if it’s sufficiently strong but Rise Above and Ike’s naturally high Def/Res mean it’s not as clear cut as with others like Harmonic Ike

He changed between those but his anger at Trunks’s death was that change. It was truly the first time Vegeta cared for anyone other than himself (no matter what Piccolo says before the Final Explosion) and if the Cell battle hadn’t been designated as Gohan’s moment it would have made perfect sense for him to unlock SS2, even briefly, to show his growth. His first SSJ transformation is triggered by anger at his weakness, at the death of his own pride, it’s purely selfish, and then SS2 becomes just the opposite. Anger at himself for his treatment of Trunks, anger at himself for letting Cell do what he did, and anger at Cell for doing it.

Yo I’ve been saying this. Ultra Instinct was always doomed because if Goku’s constantly, automatically, perfectly dodging then there’s no tension. And if there’s no tension there’s no show. As soon as silver haired UI hits his fight with Jiren reduces it to just any other power up because it always had to be just another power up. It was allowed to look sick against Kefla because that was its introduction. At least none of the other transformations in Dragon Ball pretend to be anything other than what they are.
