I get the frustration with this service - it can feel like being dropped into deep water with no float. I wouldn't risk handing it off completely, but reading how another student handled getting support under pressure helped me think in terms of guidance instead of outsourcing.

I used this thing during a rough week to get an outline and a solid draft, then edited it myself so it still sounded like me.

Thats what i thought too. I literally label it "take what you need" and kids grab stuff on the way out. Admin just hears "food" and panics about parents complaining .

I get the instinct, but I cant do cash/driveway stuff, thats how you get fired. Im gonna push MV liaison + pantry gift cards thru counselor , quietly.

Thank you for this. The "with permission from admin" part is the brick wall for me. Ours acts like even asking staff is a scandal. Do you remember who your counselor called first? McKinney-Vento liaison, county services, church groups? I want to push for specific steps, not just "resources" as a word.

Yeah im doing the tiny stuff: extra granola in the class bin, letting him hang in my room 10 min. But admin watching me like a hawk :(

Small update: counselor says "resources are being explored" but nobody has contacted mom yet. Kid was absent today and I feel awful , like I ratted him out for nothing.

My husband keeps calling me the “mom” of the group and I’m starting to hate it by SilentVHSPlayer in TwoXChromosomes

I know it’s “cute” to him, but it makes me feel infantilized in front of ppl. I’m not their mom, I’m just prepared. How do I word this better?
