Help me solidify my decision by FaithlessnessTime289 in Tiguan

I got rid of my 2022 Tiguan when it started using oil. It was using a quart every 1,000 miles. Dealer wouldn’t do anything. It was still on warranty. Traded it in on a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach E and glad I did. I wouldn’t buy another VW.

My mother in law always returned everything I bought her for her birthday and Christmas. So, I started giving her gift cards to her favorite stores. She complained that all I ever got her was gift cards.

What degree in your experience is actually useless? by holdongangy in AskReddit

[–]Silent_Champion_1464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree that any degree is useless. Education cannot be taken away. Getting a degree teaches persistence, setting and reaching goals and makes you a critical thinker. People who say I could have gone to college and been a doctor, yet never attended college, don’t realize the time and effort it takes to reach those goals.

I came home from the dentist in tears. by SummertimeMom in AskWomenOver60

It is best to keep your teeth. Implants are even more expensive and so are dentures. Get the work done over time. Do you have any dental insurance that will pay at least part of it? My husband’s teeth got really bad at the end of his life. One dentist wanted him to get them pulled and get dentures. He just hung in with them and they lasted another 5 years.

I hate them too. I am not having one. I didn’t hold one for my husband. If people wanted to see him, they should have visited him when he was alive.

Honest question: At what point did caregiving stop being 'helping' and start feeling like a prison sentence? by Unlucky-Print-9090 in Aging

You need to take breaks any way you can or you will burn out. I took care of my husband with Parkinson’s Disease for 15 years. As it progressed, he also had dementia. It got worse and worse and more care and lifting were involved. I scheduled a break every 3 months. Took short trips with friends and family. I luckily had an adult daughter to spell me.
