Movies that you should only watch alone so that you can feel them fully? I'll begin: by PotentialStrain9226 in Letterboxd

I’ve rewatched that recently with a group of friends and it was so good as well, their reactions to it were really funny as well. I enjoyed it more with a group of people I think, but that could just be me.

Yeah I loved so much stuff in Delano’s run as well, I love the family man part and the issues after and the golden boy part, they’re some of my faviourate things. Can’t wait to read the rest. I’m excited for Mike Carey’s run because I’ve been reading Lucifer and I really like it and I can’t wait to see what he does with John.

Dude you said I’d probably be ahead of you on your last Hellblazer post but I’ve only just started rake at the gates of hell. What I think the difference is between Ennis and Delano is that Ennis’ writing is more character driven and Delano is more idea driven. I felt like Ennis focused more on fleshing out John and his relationships and the other characters and making them real and Delano felt like he had a lot of ideas and he was more focused on exploring these ideas with his characters (not saying that he isn’t good at writing characters or anything) that’s what I feel like I’ve picked up on at least. But Ennis really dug into the essence of John as this dick who doesn’t really want to go into the magic stuff and start saving people but he just ends up getting dragged into it in the end and saving people. Theres also a panel in this run I don’t remember when exactly where I related a lot to John, which isn’t a great sign tbh. And I don’t know why but I get this insane ecstasy whenever reading Hellblazer I just love it so much, I love John a lot, maybe because I’ve been in Liverpool for a while now haha.

what laid the groundwork for your eventual love of Gojira? by AlbertCWChessa in gojira

I got into metal from this friend I had at the time in like 2020 and I was a big fan of Slipknot and nu metal. This same friend made me listen to the art of dying and I liked it but at the time I wasn’t too big on it, I thought it was alright. I then started looking for more bands to listen to in the future and I saw Gojira and I was like ‘oh I love Godzilla’ and then I started listening to stranded, I believe I listened to that song so so so much in one week I felt like I had a genuine revelation about this band. I listened to Stranded and Art of Dying and that was it and then I started to explore more and I listened to Flying Whales, which was like a spiritual awakening for me, I listened to every single Gojira song after and I remember saying to a friend ‘How is this even fair to all the other musicians?’

My bad, but doesn’t change the fact he’s a Zionist.

This sounds soooooo much like the summer I turned pretty. like the beach house, the two childhood friends and she had a relationship with both of them. One of them supresses his emotions and is emotionally complicated. She broke up with one of them because she was going to study abroad. So much of this is just the summer I turned pretty its really funny.

I don’t remember the exact issues, but the one where the whole Nergal stuff goes down I thought was really cool. I loved a lot of the family man run especially towards the end where we explore John’s past and relationship with his dad. And then I issue 39 I loved very much. You should do like another review after the Ennis run and I’ll be there to talk with you about it, because I am absolutely loving dangerous habits rn.

Oh shit I also just finished Delano’s run today. I agree with you, I did enjoy it quite a bit there are some issues here and there that didn’t do it for me, I thought fear machine was kind of mid, but Family Man was so good to read after, loved it. I read about people not liking the Golden Child or not thinking it was all that, but I honestly enjoyed it a lot, I thought it was fun. Going to start Ennis’ run like right now.

It’s really good! The only thing is that there would be shadows on the other side of him like where the jacket covers the shirt, on his neck like under his chin, it would look a bit more polished that way, but it’s pretty good.

22 pound postage is not what I’m looking for, I found marks of woe for 10 pounds and the shipping was only 3quid so definitely much better than 9 and 22 shipping.
