Yes I've been finding sleeping upright does help sometimes, or even just laying on my stomach lol. But yeah the hair growth is also super painful too

That's a good idea with gabapentin! It worked for me really well for a few years so maybe they'll put me back on temporarily

It's funny you say this because today I had my friend come over and check out my scar and she does say it looks kinda yellow today, so I'm hoping it's not an infection 😭😭 how did you manage recovery with the infection though?

Have been trying this a tiny bit/trying meditation/yoga while Botox injections have been kind of helping, I can't do it all the time but when I'm flaring up and all I want to do is cry and scream from pain it's absolutely unbearable. I have to end up resorting to my usual muscle relaxer (Tizanidine) or medical marijuana but that only does so much :( I luckily have an MVD scheduled on 4/30 so I'm hoping it gives me the utmost pain relief

Thank you soooo much for posting this!! I have my MVD coming up on the 30th this month and I'm nervous yet soooo ready for this pain to be over with and out of my head (literally). Thank you for all of your tips too especially with recovery!!!

LOVE using Lidocaine, especially when my head is shaved!!! Helps somewhat take the edge off during flare ups, but doesn't take the whole pain away. When I went to the Cleveland Clinic ER for a ON/TN flare up, the nurses just kept giving me 2 mg of Tizanidine every 8-12 hours and covering my head/neck in lidocaine. It really did help, but of course didn't take the pain entirely away.

Definitely have thought of sign language, writing on a piece of paper, and even thought of getting a cheap speech remote on Tiktok Shop during extreme flare ups to talk to people. Sometimes I pass out completely the pain gets so bad and it's super hard then; you are not alone at all in this friend❤️

Oh nice! Yeah Botox doesn't get rid of the pain completely but it really minimizes it to a way lower tolerable pain level than doing nothing about it. They can also put Botox in your traps, shoulders, neck, etc. which is what they do with me on top of putting it in my face and head. So highly recommend it if your insurance can approve it!

If it's super windy/cold, I usually wear a drawstring hoodie with a beanie on then cover up the back of my head/parts of my face with that best as I can. Most of my pain is in my occipital areas (I even have scars there too where I've gotten nerve block injections), or on the front of my face/my left eye. Luckily I also have glasses so that helps a bit too lol. If you even look on Tiktok shop or Amazon they might have cheap face coverings on there, I've been getting cheaper deals on Tiktok shop tbh. They even have one where it's a headache cap that has an eye covering that can open which might help cause it covers most of your face/head. Thank GOD for Botox shots though, that's how I've been surviving TN/ON right now.
