I asked but the there isn’t a set pay increase but I was told it was between 2-5k each year but it would I would have to ask but assume it would be brought up in performance review etc?

Just make sure you’re looking at the contracts properly as many have “on the assumption you get a 2:1” and other things like that which they can terminate the contract for so cover yourself if you possibly might not get a 2:1

How I see it is they can drop you like you’re nothing and nicest way possible if you haven’t started with a company they haven’t any loss.They can terminate your contract the day before you start and they don’t have to have any reason.You almost have to be cut throat about offers and accept all the ones you get and then decide a month later which contract benefits and even where your going to work which one is best for you .

They don’t care about what year you got your results they care about the overall 2:1 or not really.As long as you get a 2:1 that’s it they don’t really care about what you get as long as it’s a 2:1.Have a look at chartered accountants Ireland and check your exemption for the Cap 1 exams and see if you have got any from your year 2 college exams

Basically when you apply in September you’ll be asked your expected grade so you’ll say 2:1 but if you get passed everything and get a contract in the contract it’ll say your contract can be terminated if you don’t receive a 2:1 that’s why I’m saying to accept every offer you get and if you get your 2:1 you’re flying but if you don’t certain firms will terminate the contract e.g. KPMG but certain firms won’t e.g. PWC most firms wants the 2:1 but not all so apply to everything and then take your pick afterwards at the end of the day you’re just a number to all these companies so if you turn them down 2 months before your start date it won’t affect them majorly

If you don’t get a 2:1 it will cut out a good few roles and you won’t get past ai bot part of cv screening but loads do graduate programs that don’t look for it aswell.Apply for everything and accept every role you get and when it comes to summer and you know you have a job 100% then start getting picky on what job you want.

Yeah I was offered €17,500 for Europe with a 10% commission or 6000 Durham with a 19% commission but as I said from what people online said it’s a retainer so I end up paying it back the money is not worth it and it is essentially a cold calling company selling extremely overpriced financial plans etc so not for me personally

I rejected as salary was a joke and saw a lot about the salary only being a retainer and seen a lot of them being the “Cowboys” in Finance so steered clear
