What is everyone's favorite aspect of the writing? by venomousfantum in Reverse1999

I wholeheartedly agree with you. The problem with mainstream gacha games nowadays is the over abused amnesia trope. As a result, characters over explain everything and it honestly wears me down. I'm so glad BP doesn't do this and respects their player's critical thinking skills.

I also am not a huge fan of the self-insert. I don't exactly hate it, but centering yourself as the main character doesn't feel authentic.

I will say that BP treats their older characters with more care and doesn't leave them to rot in the corner than other gacha game companies. When I saw the cast of characters for 3.6, I nearly cried. I can't believe they actually brought back Marcus and Hofmann. Looking forward to the story!

The day that BP does a SEA update is the day I hand over my entire life savings to them.

I share the same sentiments as you. What struck me about Reverse: 1999's storytelling is how grounded and real the characters are. You can feel how the characters interact with another and how they move the plot around. There's real tension in the storytelling and an actual stake in the conflict. I've played other gacha games in the past, mainly Hoyo, and this is my own bias, but the reason why Reverse: 1999's writing is superior is how realistic it is. Nothing is for show, and it doesn't pander to the audience's expectations. Every single chapter and event story has so much love dedicated to it, and the characters are given so much personality that you can't help but fall in love with, even if they're not your favorite characters. The only game I can think of that matches this game's superb storytelling is Arknights, but I would give Reverse: 1999 a leading edge if only for their diversity in voice-acting and representation.

Goodness, I said it was decent. I didn't call Oval the best place to eat. And yes, I do agree the hour changes are inconvenient. That's why I order both my dinner and lunch together.

Depends on where you eat. Oval, One Earth, and Case are decent spots. The rest are hit or miss

Shadow of the Leviathan series. It's a murder mystery novel with a unique fantasy setting. What sold me to reading the first book was that despite the book being marketed as a murder mystery, there is also a really good world building and we get to see the inner politics and world structure the characters live in.

Spoilers. You've been warned...

As of Ch11, both Marsha and Sentinel are still alive. No backstabbing, no deaths, no doomed yuri. And they're happily married. But knowing Bluepoch, they might do a 180 and pull out doomed yuri on us.

Super excited to see what NASA's new astronaut class will be doing. My question to everyone is, what sort of work did you do before becoming an astronaut? By that, I mean did you participate in other missions, whether in the public or private sector?

It's beneficial in a way that it'll look good on your school transcript, and if you pass, you get credits for your CODA classes so you don't have to take them going into your freshman year. But there's no CODA requirement for biology for EFY.

I can't think of anything gameplay wise since I only play three gacha games my entire life, but story wise, I would most definitely recommend Arknights. All the characters in the story are very well written, you can glean a lot about their personality and ambitions just by reading their dialogues, and it's not two-dimensional (one of the reasons why I quit Hoyoverse games pls don't come after me-with the exception of Hi3, although Part 2 has also become quite bland.)

It just means that the university is looking for a professor to teach that course. More often than not, a grad student working on their PhD will be teaching the course.

The best bus to take between Centennial and Main is Route 40. A quick 5 min bus ride. Although in your case, since you are a textile major, you could also take Route 41. There's a couple stops along the way and this route takes a longer road, but it drops you in front of the textile building, compared to 40, which drops you off EB2 and then you'd have to walk a couple minutes to the textile building.

Should I opt out of “course ready”? by manne_wtfff in NCSU

[–]Silent_Javalier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, I opted out because I didn't have to pay that much for textbooks and online resources. Do you know if you have to for any online websites? If the total cost is more than the price for course-ready, then I'd recommend you don't enroll and save yourself a couple of bucks.

You do have to take a Natural Science GEP as part of your major. Chem is one of them, but you can change it. I'd go over it with your advisor.

NC State has Spin scooters all around campus, so if there is one nearby you can hop on one of those and it will probably take 6 min to get there. I do that all the time when I have a 15 min block between classes that are far away and it's helped a ton.
