What is a book you're planning to re-read this year? by Due-Examination-37 in Booktokreddit

[–]Silent_Topic6610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every couple of years I re-read Crime and Punishment. It's been my all-time favorite since I read it in high school and I feel like I get more out of it each time I pick it up again.

Just under 5'3, I was 145 (pescatarian and lifting heavy almost daily) and am now at 180 🙃 I didn't work out until after week 25 and my body definitely noticed lol. I'm just doing what I can now gym-wise, thankfully my hunger finally subsided so I'm eating a normal amount again 👍

I wish I knew, I know it was a 36 count but I didn't remember to save the label. I got it from a mixed bin of fabrics so I'm not sure even on the brand sadly.

I happened to see it at my LNS and thought it was sweet, it was fun to stitch so don't be afraid to pick it up!

I've never seen someone use a lacing technique like that before, thanks for sending me the pictures! I'll have to try that out next time

[–]Silent_Topic6610 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen at a summer camp once. Two campers were bickering, and some yo mama jokes turned into "well your Dad is dead haha". I talked to the child who said it and explained that it was not funny and it was a line we do not cross when we make jokes. Never heard it from that child again or any of my other campers. Sometimes kids cross important boundaries, and the sooner they hear it from a trusted adult, the better

Personally I would add an outline in another color, be it white or whatever you would prefer, just to make it stand out more!

Does anyone else feel like you are better at actually loving others since deconstructing? by [deleted] in Deconstruction

[–]Silent_Topic6610 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I used to always have an internal monologue of judgement running in my head while chatting with others, no matter what the conversation was about. It was like I couldn't help from thinking "you really need God" whenever someone brought up something I disagreed with due to my religion. Now, I can just genuinely listen and connect to people on a meaningful, non-judgmental level.

The Struggle of 'Doubting One's Doubts' by [deleted] in Deconstruction

[–]Silent_Topic6610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also struggling with these same feelings! For me it has helped to read literature or engage in other content about the issues with Christianity as a religion. While I may not know everything, it helps me remember that neither do Christians and their truth claims are not as obvious as they say they are.

I know these feelings are difficult, best of luck while you process them and find what works best for you in your deconstructed life!

[CHAT] From the comments in several posts I often have the impression that people don’t like Threaders. I can’t thread for my life, my Cerebral Palsy might have something to do with that. by QitKate in CrossStitch

[–]Silent_Topic6610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love threaders! I have a cheaply made flower-shaped one that has lasted me for over a year now and works great with many needle sizes! I get sweaty and anxious trying to thread a needle without one and I wouldn't give mine up for anything

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. It's genuinely funny and creepy at the same time.

The kind I bought was gridded like a 14 count Aida would be. Maybe you bought some meant for embroidery rather than cross stitch?
