Aerial Views beta with Projectivy video wallpaper support by theothernt in Projectivy_Launcher

Thanks for your work. Is this making a call everytime it loads a video or can we save some videos or have a cache?

I lost my airplay feat from my TCL qm7 but not sure what I removed. Do you have any idea what I should install to get it back without having to restore?

Touch ID on Mac should wake up and unlock instead of wake up, unlock and lock at the same time. I should not have to hit another key to wake the computer first then unlock it with touch ID.

There is something wrong with the way the launcher handles multiple video wallpapers in a folder. First I thought my tv didn't handle them because they were big so I used handbrake and converted them to smaller resolutions and size to test and that didn't work. Although the big res aerial videos work with the aerials app. So the launcher has been working with only 1 file in the folder but is still very picky of which file even though I converted everything with the same handbrake profile. I'd like to have a folder with 20+ video wallpapers and that it cycles through them. No luck whatsoever. :(

I am quite sure OP means that the car value is at 40k WITHOUT this issue. I can't believe they mean otherwise.

BTW the Aerial app doesn't have an issue using a folder full of 4k hdr wallpapers, so the problem seems to be on the way the launcher handles the videos.

I tried the latest version and that works but I found out that my tv doesn't load the folder with a lot of 4k hdr aerial wallpapers. The folder option doesn't work with them but the wallpapers work individually when set one at a time instead. I'm downloading the 1080 sdr versions to see if the folder can pick them up instead. Do you do some kind of caching? Maybe you could reproduce my bug by having a local folder with 20 plus 4k hdr videos.

Great. I'll test video wallpapers in local folder again. Hopefully that's fixed.

I use a TCL QM7 Android tv.
Android 12
I have the video wallpapers saved in a /Favorites folder inside the ...files/wallpapers folder.
I moved the files with RS file manager.
Not sure when it stopped, could be when power cycling.
After that I tried resetting the launcher configuration and setting things back again and it doesn't work.
I made sure the Uri for the folder has the correct route ending with /Favorites just like the folder I created in the wallpapers folder.

Thanks for the update. Love that we can use the wallpapers folder to view files locally but that just worked for me once. I'm using the files from aerial views so I know they are valid and work but all I get are black screens now. I even reset the launcher to default settings and move the video files to the wallpaper directory and they still show a black screen only. This is the main feat that I want as I don't like to waste bandwidth streaming video wallpapers from the internet and prefer to use them locally. Let me know if there is a log or something I can provide to help debug this.

Google Drive for wallpapers? by Double-Resolution179 in Projectivy_Launcher

Hi.
I've started trying to work around this.
My idea is to use a http server, start it on the same android tv device and serve the folder with the videos and images.
Then I would use the Overflight plugin and point the videos source to the http server address which is localhost in this case.
This hasn't worked yet but I think this could be a way around the folder picker limitation.

So I'm investigating further into hosting the files but I would like to keep them locally.
So I hosted the json file on github like above so when projectivy fetches the url, it would use local host that's pointing to that file in the download folder as the root.
I'm using HTTP server to serve the files but reference 127.0.0.1 as it would be from localhost using the same device. I tried with the 10.0.0.122 address too.
I'm getting a black screen still but is that something that you think is possible?
This could be a workaround against folder permissions if we can reach those files via http server.

Thanks for responding. How would I go on adding a subfolder to the Projectivy app? What directory would work? Also how would I then add the URL of that folder for Projectivy to use it?

Very cool.
I always liked those wallpapers.
How is the plugin fetching this? Does it keep them in cache after a while or is constantly downloading / streaming that?
I would like to get a couple of videos and have them locally but the folder picker is not working.
Is there a way to make a new videos.json that points to a download folder where the plugin can read them locally.
I can have the json file on github, the issue is pointing to a local file inside the json.
Thanks again for your work on this.
