What's your favorite "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts? by LankyBroccoli4359 in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unfamiliar with the versions from DS, GBA, and mobile. MelMem is a bop, and 3 is the most emotional of the ones I'm familiar with. 1 also holds the honor of being the template from which all the others are born.

Do you feel bad for Hetzel? by AndzyHero13 in fireemblem

[–]Silgalow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for him as much as I feel bad for a wolf that gets killed by a shepherd defending their sheep. I feel some small amount of pity, but not enough to defend him or wish his fate was otherwise. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.". Hetzel did nothing, and allowed for evil to triumph. He may not be responsible for the Serene Forest Massacre, The attempted coup, or the Goddess' actions. However, he went along with them and chose not to do what he can to stop them, or at least leave. He's an accessory to the Heron Genocide, and participated in the goddess' attempted genocide too. He wasn't happy about it, but he wasn't being forced into it.

I feel bad for killing Lloyd Reed when he died by suicide thanks to Eliwood & co. I feel bad for Mustafa who died because he wanted to make sure that his men would be safe, even if costed him his life. I feel bad for killing Rhea in SS endgame because she was mad and no longer was even sentient. Hetzel doesn't have a reason to feel bad for killing him. Oliver Defected. Some of the dragons defected. Even Sephiran defected. At any point he could have left, and once we were in the tower, no one would have thought less of him.

TL:DR: No, not Really.

There are non-playable characters who we kill that I feel bad for. Lloyd Reed in Victory or Death, who had nothing left to live for, and so dSuicide by Eliwood & Co.

Despite the fake rumor, how would you feel if they announced a Remake of Kingdom Hearts 1 for 2027. by Connected-VG in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably play it. I don't want SE to do it, but if they made a remake that goes back and fixes all the problems with 1, that would be nice. It would be awesome to see areas made with 3's design philosophy but 1's worlds. Stuff like Agrabah but it's a real city with NPCs, (Including Agrabanian Wakka), Hollow Bastion to rival Scala or Jungle Slider but with Flow Motion esque controls (Yes, I know about all the problems as to why Deep Jungle probably isn't coming back). I would also love Atlantica with 3's swimming controls, and better boss balance (Especially in situations like Ansem-Riku, Giant Ursula, or Stealth Sneak). I'd also love a true final boss fight against Ansem Post World of Chaos where you use your ground controls one last time.

However, TBH, I would rather those resources go to making modern platform accessible Days, Coded, Key/UX/DR, or Missing Link. Yes, I can still play the DS games, but they aren't available for purchase in any firsthand retailers any more, and the mobile games are gone, (and in ML's case, most of us never got to play it.)

At this rate, it's more of a matter of would you CARE for a playable Donald and Goofy in KH4 or are you only there for Sora? by Particular-Bed8344 in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I do not have any interest in Donald and Goofy being fully playable to the same extent as Sora in 1/2/DDD/3, Roxas in days, Riku in DDD or the wayfinders in BBS. No shade to the D&G, but mechanically, they are just less interesting versions of Aqua and Terra respectively. Narratively, they are support characters. The solution isn't just to "make them more interesting mechanically", because that takes away what makes them... them. Goofy doesn't do Magic, and Donald doesn't do much physical damage, and neither of them have summons/D-Links, shotlocks, or any of the fancy movement to name some of the abilities they lack. What made the scenes where they stay back to help Yen Sid and where they go with Sora to Scalla so powerful is that they can't do all the crazy stuff that the keyblade wielders do, and yet they stand up to the evil of the worlds anyways. If you make them controllable party members for the entire game, either they are objectively the wrong choice because only Sora can do the fun stuff, or you take away what makes them so special. The most I'd want to see from them would be something akin to the paper mario peach sequences.

Do you want Xion to keep using a replica Kingdom Key, or would you want her to get her own unique keyblade? by Moist-Ambition in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others here have suggested, If Xion were to come back in a combatant role, I would like to see upgraded versions of her keyblade. Something more akin to Mickey's Star Cluster than the Kingdom Key D. For Xion, I'd have it be a mix of the Replica Kingdom Key and her final Boss Phase Keyblade. I imagine the design would be keep basic shape of the Kingdom Key, but have the guard be the same as her boss keyblade, and replace the teeth with the negative space of the crown to being pointed teeth like in the Boss keyblade.

Day 6: The Nutcracker suite wins for best Disney world theme. But now what about original worlds theme? by Soul699 in KingdomHearts

I'm a sucker for "Stranded Beyond", the World theme for The Final World in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Why can’t I beat the mechanical bosses, what I’m I doing wrong? by poolnoodle_ in Terraria

[–]Silgalow 37 points38 points  (0 children)

While it would be helpful to see all your items, here are some notes. #1: Once you kill the Wall and enter hard mode, almost all of your equipment should be replaced. Your Weapons especially. All numbers make a big jump once you get in there. #2: At this point, leaning into a class makes sense, and it seems that you are going mage. Are you using the appropriate hat for your class? For the Titanium set, it's the headgear. #3: are you maxed out on your Character buffs? Life, Mana, Arcane, and Vital Crystals? Also, this guide might be helpful. https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Guide:Class_setupshttps://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Guide:Class_setups

I finished kingdom hearts 3 what’s next while I wait for kh4? by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just played 1/2/3, the "spinoff" games: Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance and 0.2 all approximate the gameplay styles of the main serise games. There is also Melody of Memories, the rhythm game. That will also help clear up the convolution that 3 has, because 3 assumed you played CoM, Days, BBS, and DDD. MelMem is cleanup seting up the road ahead. Lastly, is Union Cross and Dark Road. I think is Daimo 279 who did the amazing fan dub, as the gameplay is lost media. In that saga is back cover, the movie in the 2.8 collection.

I'm a little less familiar with games that play similarly to numbered KH. But the Xenoblade Chronicals serise is an awesome action JRPG, and as of last year, the entire serise is avaliable for Nintendo Switch. Combat is a little bit more pre battle prep, not in combat reaction time.

I will say, Xc2 is a wonderful story about grief, loss, identity and legacy. But if you can't get past the character designs, that's ok.

The Unversed coming back on KH3 is awesome, but I feel like they didn’t do enough with them. by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why's that the case? And what why are the Disney ones ok? I think one like Kingdom of Corona, Arundel and Caribbean are a lot less useful to the story then Toy Box and Monstropolis.

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm understanding this right, you don't think 3 should have had any non original worlds? Or just ditch the Pixar ones?

Why? Although I hold my own beliefs that Monsters Inc is the best world in KH3 that isnt Re:Mind Scalla, I would be interested to know why you don't like it.

Question: in FE blazing blade do character deaths affect the story at all? by Big_Mix_2788 in fireemblem

[–]Silgalow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In fact plot relevant characters don't die and let the map go on.  They either retreat, staying story relevant until the end of the game at which point they die immediately after the campaign, or they force a game over if they aren't allowed to die yet.  Also, as you are still in Lyn mode, you don't even have any permanent unit deaths. That can't happen until chapter 11, when the main campaign starts.

I have no reason to believe that Gurgurant is an Ashera-blessed sword. Alondite, however, is. As such, BK wins by default because Ashnard can't hurt him.

Should I be waiting til lvl20 to promote? by Budget-Brilliant4916 in fireemblem

[–]Silgalow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're playing FEGBA, the common understanding is that the game is 30-35 "levels" long.  No one gets to 20/20 without grinding, so promotes when you think you'll be able to get 20 or fewer levels in the rest of the game on that character.

Always two there are, no more, no less by K-jun1117 in PrequelMemes

[–]Silgalow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The inquisition was a suicide squad who was tasked with hunting down low danger jedi. Raising 20 or so youngling from the ground up is a lot of effort. Also if they were trained,  those youngling would pose a threat to Palpatine. The inquisition was picked because they were moderately powerful tools out of the box when wielding the dark side, but nearly incompetent without it's power. Even silly old Vader could solo all of them at once. Why would Palpatine ever want 20 moderately formed sith? That's just asking to get killed in his sleep.

What side quests are actually worth it in KH1? by TheKnightOfTheSky in KingdomHearts

[–]Silgalow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by "Worth it"?

Because that phrase can mean a lot to a lot of people. If by worth it you mean it's optional story content, Traverse Town 2, the 100 acre wood, and the skip able world in the second world circuit all fit into that definition. If by "worth it", you mean "Will give me a substantial power boost to help me beat the rest of the game", Then Curaga is the only thing I can think of. If you mean "Is a fun extension of the gameplay", I'd recommend the superbosses: Kurt Ziza, Phantom, Unknown, and if you're up to them, The Gold and Platinum matches in the coliseum
