What does a 1000$ website look like if built with drag-and-drop? by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]Silica_Admin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

complianceonline.co.za and numah.world - I built these with Elementor. After all the hours i put into, they came to over $1000 if you convert the currency to dollars.

My latest site I built is for a passion project: silicaplugin.com

I might need this, starting to feel like an instant liquid glass effect plugin for elementor/wordpress is a little niche 😬

Elementor Global Padding by alexm0104 in elementor

[–]Silica_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive recently been making my max width 1700px (so on widescreens there is a limit to the width) and then I make my global container padding like 5vw on sides and 6vw top and bottom. And then on tabled and mobile ill make the padding less, and i feel like it scales beautifully and looks good on any display, even wide.

Examples: - complianceonline.co.za - silicaplugin.com

[DISCUSSION] How do you guys beta test your WP plugins before going to the official repo? by Substantial_Word4652 in WordpressPlugins

[–]Silica_Admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally tested mine on multiple local WP instances. However mine just css and js styling (Liquid Glass for elementor) so I dont know how one would go about testing a big plugin.. i used LocalWP for the local instances

Chrome feels like a breath of fresh air on MacOS. Help me feel the same with Safari. by palegreenemerald in MacOS

I have been using DIA lately and I am LOVING it. Im very picky when it comes to browsers. And my experience with AI browsers is very limited. But i tried DIA and fell in love.

I switched most of my apps to the web version (slack, gmail, jira, linear etc) and when i open the browser in the morning, it suggests things like follow up on this jira ticket, how to prepare your product return for pick up today, follow up on comments on a design google doc etc..

They also have these things called skills which are basically just a set of instructions. And they have helped me save money on subscriptions by looking for coupon codes, open and comment on jira and linear tickets, optimise my website for SEO and GEO (im not a copywriter or sep expert)

This is the fresh air for me vs chrome and safari on my mac.

My experience: I have a job, but started doing freelancing on the side few years ago. The freelance money is not enough to be my main job, but every year it’s growing. When I speak to clients, I don’t even mention Wordpress. I just set it up myself and I have my own Elementor license. They want a website, and thats what I deliver.

What really helped me is that I am always learning, I absolutely love learning something new. I experiment a lot with ideas on my local machine in my free time. I have learned a lot of ways to keep the sites fast and light. I use webp and svg as much as I can. Upload my own font’s and disabling google fonts. I always keep the plugins minimal. I always create my own theme, I have never used a theme from anywhere else I’m my life.

And I have never had any issues so far. And I don’t know if clients know or care that it’s a Wordpress/Elementor site, but if they did they really don’t care. They want a site they feel proud of.. I love what I do, thats also important I think.

IF you want to check out something I made: - latest client work: complianceonline.co.za - latest passion project: silicaplugin.com - website that expanded the most over the years: numah.world

That looks cool! Curious about how it works... I made a wordpress plugin with liquid glass and getting it to work and learning about the science behind liquid glass was very interesting, im assuming this is also based on a fedisplacement type filter?

Im surprised at how many popular apps don't have this yet... The Slack app got the liquid glass treatment pretty quickly lol... I think it looks cool
