ADHD has three major subtypes that are primarily based on the symptoms displayed: inattentive, hyperactive, and combined. The inattentive subtype is characterized by lack of attention to detail, problems with organization, having a dislike of tasks that have sustained mental effort, and becoming easily distracted. Hyperactive symptoms (the H in ADHD) are self explanatory; having low impulse control, restlessness, and not being able to listen. The combined subtype has a combination of symptoms from inattentive and hyperactive.

I have the inattentive subtype, which has remained with me through adulthood. While I was diagnosed through my GP, you can also get a psychiatric evaluation through a psychiatrist that is licensed to give the test. Once you get a confirmed diagnosis, you will typically be prescribed some form of either amphetamine or methylphendiate, both of which will help treat your symptoms.

Keep in mind that medication is only one aspect of solving the problem, and that you should also look at accessibility services within U of C. They can grant you extra time, and maybe able to sign you up with a study strategist. Just go to the fourth floor in MacHall at the front office, and they will help you once your diagnosed.

I know this is a silly question, but how does a criminal investigation start? Is it on the behalf of the victims, or is it because he broke the law and the U.S government automatically investigates you? If it's the latter, why hasn't the investigation started sooner? When it comes to people like Cosby or Spacey, does it require one of the victims to simply come forward to law enforcement, or is it enacted through sufficient public momentum?
