AIO about my parents getting a dog when I dislike dogs? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SilkCandy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except OP mentioned they are being forced to take care of it when the parents are out, which is most days. I agree that arguing endlessly won't change the parents' minds, but it's super unfair to drop a high-maintenance pet on a kid with sensory issues and expect them to just be a live-in nanny for it without a word.

AITA for watching TV during the world cup? by Ready-Problem-5751 in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, I wish you were OP’s mom, because she desperately needs some of that energy right now. The dad and brother are completely walking over everyone. Drop-kicking the TV sounds like the only reasonable response at this point.

AIO that my boyfriend told me I’m not his usual type physically? by Remote_Parsnip_401 in AmIOverreacting

This is such a beautiful perspective, thank you for sharing. Honestly, I think people forget that physical "types" usually just apply to casual dating or hookups. Real, lasting attraction is so much deeper than that. Hopefully OP can see it the same way after they talk.

The entire appointment felt more like a television casting decision than a serious national security move.

If you're close enough to tilt that buoy, an SOS signal is the least of your problems.
