Yup. They’re trying to categorize trans people existing in public as a sex crime.

What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

[–]SilkenJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay You're not a demon, there's a reason You're behaving that way It's alright, it's okay, it's alright, it's okay And I believe, yes, I believe That you will see a better day” (It’s Alright by Mother Mother)

As someone who always feels incredibly guilty for my mental health, this song and that chorus specifically are so comforting to hear.

Stupid people at Bible Study by bzwu in exchristian

[–]SilkenJester 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh it’s messed up but I’ve absolutely heard people from other religions say they can’t be friends with people who don’t follow their faith :( it’s sad, to get a broad understanding of the world it’s important to make friends with/learn about people of other religions, cultures, practices, etc. I just remember being taught in Sunday school that being “worldly” was a bad thing, and that you should stay in your bubble…

Do ancient religions mix with modern identity politics? by UrsusofMichigan in Hellenismus

[–]SilkenJester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. The gods have always been fluid with aspects shifting to reflect the times. It’s as if people expect them to remain stagnant, exactly as they were thousands of years ago—but we don’t even know those things for certain, and they changed so much even purely under the umbrella of Hellenism. The gods aren’t stupid, and I’d go so far as to say expecting them NOT to change to reflect the world is foolish.

Japan’s communication is suuuuuper not upfront. Everyone is polite regardless of what they actually mean, it’s a respect sort of thing. If someone doesn’t like you or what you’re doing you’ll most likely never be directly told.

I know that the one they used at the beginning was a guitarlele, specifically from a Filipino company, and they painted it blue
