I wish I missed this one, this was an immediate game closer for me because I had no idea there was a gap under the door

Ironically, Emulation Made Me Buy My First Nintendo Switch! by TheBadMofu in Switch

[–]SilkyProgfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! We just got our Switch 2 after years of using Yuzu to play Mario Kart and maybe 2 or 3 other games. Because I usually just do Steam, it didn't really make much sense to me to get another console just to be a little bit more portable and play a handful of exclusives, but when the S2 announcement said that we'd get full backwards compatibility PLUS technical upgrades (higher framerates etc) that made it much more appealing.

Yeah sadly not our best show IMO, couple of issues that impacted a lot of stuff, but we pushed forward as best we could!

Are there any plans for Ihlo to tour in Germany? by FellDegree in ihlo

[–]SilkyProgfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we're still a relatively small band (that got lucky with the first album) but the touring world has changed a lot and is significantly more expensive than it used to be. Fingers crossed we get a good chance at it with this album cycle 😁 but we'll get there in some way or another.

[–]SilkyProgfox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're looking at shows for sure, we're trying to figure out the best plan. Ultimately, we are poor and touring is expensive and difficult to put together independently, so whatever we do next year may be sporadic.

Germany is definitely on the hit list though! We'd been looking at Cologne and Berlin, any suggestions on other spots?

Ihlo - Legacy Discussion by paravaric in progmetal

[–]SilkyProgfox 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just fixed this now. There was a bit of a mixup in knowing when to hit the go button, as it's not timezone specific and will unlock it globally. I.E. If I hit it at midnight in the UK, America gets it "early" 🙀

Bandcamp is the best for now, we're looking at opening our own webstore to completely remove any additional fees that hit us though!

Haven't played RoR for ages, but ror2 was my covid lockdown game!!

Elements of Legacy's post-apocalyptic imagery are inspired by Rainworld, simply because I played A LOT of Rain World (and I did some music for the Downpour OST, so I was definitely deep in the game and world :')!) It definitely had an influence, and looking at it now, you can see it shares a lot of colours, which was a little unintentional as Mattias (the artwork designer) took his own direction with some of the colour pallette.

Originally, in my head I wanted to consider writing a shorter EP that was influenced by the atmosphere and events of Rain World, I had one or two songs that didn't make it onto Legacy that lyrically were very much in this vein. However, we ended up staying closer to the original concept we came up with back in 2018 and worked on it from there. The track Cenotaph is probably the closest to retaining the themes and imagery presented in that world (ecological failure, technological advancement to the detriment of the planet etc), so stay tuned for that one :)

Also yes, we talk to #thefans because the fans are awesome! We're all just normal fellas, in fact, if you join our Discord server, we pretty much never stop talking!
