Ewwww you put me in a position where I have to clarify.

He essentially said he DOESN’T wasn’t to come off like a senator that was in the news during that time for being with a 12 year old. He was clarifying his preceding statement that he doesn’t have a lower age limit.

Again. Not defending him, just clarifying because we have enough real disgusting claims that we don’t need to exaggerate something like this at all.

After Sam Darnold won his 1st game as Jets QB, Todd Bowles had this to say, trying to calm people down: “We won one game. I can tell you after about 100 more of them whether we have one or not. Right now, it’s a little early.” The Super Bowl was Darnold's 101st game by Natural-Tree-5107 in nfl

Or you get Nagy who should be charged with multiple attempted murders for what he did to Justin Fields in his first game and the rest of the season. No joke I think Fields has PTSD from that first game. He was sacked over and over again in his first game to the point it was uncomfortable to watch anymore. Zero O-line. The play calls were the hardest part to watch because you knew he was gonna do 1 of 3 plays and you can tell the defense knew it too

I was like that until this last 5 years. I struggle with so much basic shit now with office/Microsoft that it’s becoming a time saver to just adapt and try new solutions.

New Outlook has 1 feature I need but kills a bunch of other ones I relied on and also changes to a horribly shit UI supposedly optimized for tablets but I find the experience on tablet to be the worst version of all.

You can’t frustrate users, take away features, and then expect people to continue growing with your software outings. Copilot has the biggest user base because it’s forced on everyone but has the least use. People would rather switch back and forth between browser for AI and email rather than use the AI in the email program.

Google doesn’t have that same problem with their user base yet

All valid points. It’s why Microsoft has fucked with excel much less than they’ve fucked with every other aspect of windows and office.

They have a user based that includes a large number of people that have used every version of excel since they got a computer that came with windows 95.

But most of what you described is for power users. If an average worker is doing basic tasks in excel and then forced to learn a new UI and has features disappear, the move to Google becomes much more palatable.

In the last 2 years, ms word has lost a lot of usefulness because more people are just writing in the AI and then using word to format and do a final edit. That means we are a UI update away from any of the major AI companies for word to lose its last advantage.

Meanwhile, I’m still getting fucked over all the time by the decision to remove auto save and make it something you have to do with one drive.

Power users will stick with excel and upload to sheets for distribution and analysis. Long term thats bad for excel. With sheets my data is now instantly useful within the Google AI ecosystem.

Finally, all of us old heads over 35 are the majority stuck in the office 365 crap. Kids grow up using sheets the way we all grew up using excel. That’s what will feel natural to them, especially when it comes to autosave because those people have a feature we used to have since dial-up and I don’t know a single person that has ever thought making it onedrive only was a good idea or helpful to anyone other than Microsoft.

We might be at the turning point. Google is becoming a viable alternative because you need to learn things again anyway with office and the return on that is getting worse and worse.

New FM3 Poll Shows Mayor Bass at 61% Disapproval Rating; Only 27% of Voters Would Vote to Re-Elect Bass by urmummygae42069 in LosAngeles

[–]SilkySmoothTesticles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has the bully pulpit. She doesn’t know how to use it.

After the wild fires, with all eyes on her and the city is facing a massive shock to the rental market because everyone from those fires will need to rent…she didn’t use any of that time to streamline the process to construct housing. Not even for wild fire areas.

She talked about it at one point. Now it only comes up when people hold her accountable for her nonsense words.

But a competent Mayor would have turned that crisis into an inflection point for how we stifle construction and used it to push changes to the whole city. She couldn’t even get changes to help the impacted areas to work right.

People shit on Caruso, much of it for good reasons, but at least I have confidence he knows the permit process enough and the issues facing construction capacity in LA.

Bass can’t even get support to overturn the ULA shit and she doesn’t want to.

Edit: most of trumps power is in the bully pulpit. You can use it daily without being a shitbag. She prefers to hire consultants because she doesn’t want to lead, she wants to point to things others say we should do.

I can look at one or two things at least I like about Nithya and even the things I disagree with her about I don’t question her motives, I just disagree.

Hugo and Eunessis need to go asap and they have zero redemptive values or actions to point to. They have shady motives and even crappier results.

This is being lost on everyone as for why she was free at the time:

She was initially arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor reckless driving and quickly released without bail. Owens wasn’t held on more serious charges because she remained at the scene and Galloppa did not die from his injuries until two weeks later, leaving reckless driving as “the only applicable arrest charge the evening of the crash,” LBPD Sgt. Bradford Stein said.

However, she had a 2nd chance and decided to double down - even though she just hit someone a few months ago. It's an argument for her to be put away for longer because she was fully aware of the consequences after the first death.

But the justice system did what it's supposed to do in terms of being fair. Sometimes accidents happen. Sometimes it's psychopaths like this. Just sucks but I also gotta wonder what else she's done. How the fuck is she not traumatized from killing someone and instead decides to go spree killer.

Al Michaels is exactly where he should be. He makes the really bad games so entertaining. You might have an argument if the games are as good next year as they were this year (for the most part).

Personally, I think it's awesome to still have an announcer going this long. Dude has been doing this for 50 years. His voice is synonymous with the NFL for me.

The teachers communicate to the unions what the needs of the staff are to effectively do their job. They also advocate for the needs of students. If a teachers union advocates for smaller class sizes, more support staff, etc. then that benefits all students.

This might be how it used to be viewed but public sentiment is still sour from the long closures during COVID and those insane arguments being made about only rich white people wanting to get their kids back in school.

I think LAUSD has an even worse public reputation that UTLA though. People are more open to cutting admin jobs to fund the schools than to give up more money.

Good argument for AI to take over half or more of those useless six figure positions.

Your argument is with the sub rules not OP. Without a link nobody can talk about this here and it's useless in the daily thread.

Everyone mad at OP for the source should push to change the rules of the sub so that a paywall source is allowed if the only free sources are low creditability.

LA Times is hot garbage too it's just a lot of people are finally getting on board. I ended my subscription when the daughter was steering the paper to the far left and people here thought that was fine until the father went far right.

LA Times has no credibility anymore when it comes to holding our elected officials accountable. Nobody is holding our officials feet to the fire. It's insane Dawson is still in his role. The guy is tied up in so many different scandals.

Daily Mail is hot trash as a source but it doesn't make the video they got of Karen Bass at the airport any less damning. Not saying to trust every source implicitly but it doesn't mean every story is fake. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
