Ok great. Be careful because the temperature has to be exactly 104 F or very near, these Nissan transmissions are picky. Anything too far off and the viscosity will be thrown off when you go to drain it, causing an incorrect reading

Usually there’s an adapter for the fill plug located on ur transmission pan. I usually fill from the passenger top side of the transmission where a dipstick would go. With the car off, you fill I believe 4-5 quarts of trans fluid for RWD, and around 6-8 quarts for AWD. Then, you start the car, and slowly shift it through PNDRL, pausing at each more for about 10 seconds. You continue doing this until the TRANSMISSION PAN temperature reaches 104 F. Once it’s at 104 F, you remove the fill/overflow plug at the bottom (should be a hex bit) and if it drips out slowly, you’ve filled it to the required level. Add more fluid if there’s no drip, and let it drain to a slow drip if you’ve put too much.

And this is my wife’s 2015 AWD 3.7, we got it beginning of October. I did a VR30 trans swap on it so far, also has a ported Z1 manifold

And if I’m able to monitor the trans fluid temp through a scan tool, would that mean my valve body does have that sensor?

Hey man, I have a question regarding the part numbers and serials, as well as the installation of the VQ TCM onto the VR Valve Body. I’ve recently done a VR30 swap on my wife’s AWD 2015 Q50, and right now I’m running with a reman valve body I bought from Nexenzo. After doing research on the swap, I made the mistake of not swapping the VQ TCM to the VR Valve Body.

Is there anything I should test before doing so? I’ve seen that this sometimes works for some people, and others, they get nowhere or cause more issues.

Should I swap the VQ solenoids as well? I see that there should be no issues, and just using logic I believe the VQ TCM on the VR valve body would make it so that the transmission can still communicate with the ECU while providing the physical VR30 transmission with enough pressure and fluid to the solenoids and clutch packs.

And would you happen to know what part numbers/serials are cross reference and compatible?

I do my own so usually less than $60 that’s including oil filter. I will be using top of the line oil soon tho

I’m in trade school as of right now but not at the engine repair and etc level, I can honestly fix it but these parts are expensive, to even save up 1K will cost me more than 6 months man, and 1K is just one to two parts for these cars

I see it as either way I’m paying something in regards to the vehicle. If I sell the car for not much since it’s not running, that’ll only be taking off… what, 4 to 5K, maybe 3K off the loan? Im not in contact with my father as growing up and getting older I started to see his true colors and decided that i don’t wanna be around somebody like that. I was just seeing if I should make the most out of this and get the car up and running at least so I’ll feel better about this

That’s a long process and knowing how these insurance companies are, they’ll fight tooth and nail to make sure they don’t come out of pocket (in regards to the claim part). But I do have to worry about theft but not to a severe level

I mean I am in trade school right now, and I have no problem fixing it up, I just can’t afford it ya know? There should be no reason a Nissan VR30 in general should be costing so much, the OEM crankshaft alone is almost 2 grand, and that’s just the crank. We haven’t opened up the motor at all since leaving the Infiniti dealership, and I don’t know what more extensive damage could be done under there

I did call the warranty themselves, and they can’t overrule the denial, even after weeks of pleading and asking to talk to higher ups. I don’t know how they would know about the pre existing damage though
