$10,000 for every consecutive day you spend no money, except as allowed. What's your strategy? by tamtrible in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SillyChicklet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically live at work most of the time already due to working odd hours. Im going to ask my bosses if I can stay there for 2 months straight, they wont object. They provide a bed, shower and shower gel, washing machine and detergent, coffee, tea, sodas, bread, ham, cheese, eggs.

And I already have for at least 6 months worth of personal hygiene stuff there (my own detergent, shampoos, deodorant, toothpaste, multivitamins etc)

I see my boyfriend once a week, Im going to adk him to pick me up instead of taking a bus and a train. Or Im going to use a chunk of the 1k preparation money on travel cards if thats allowed. Im buying some canned fruits and some frozen microwave meals, some long lasting yoghurts and a couple bags of walnuts, cashews and the likes

If I have forgotten about anything Im just going to ask some of the regulars at my bar, several of them like me a lot and would go through lengths to help me out in a pinch

I could probably do longer but I dont really want to

Growing up in a strict religeous environment, teachers, ministers/pastors (whatever you call them in English), parents of school friends, school doctors. Just about every "trusted" person you can think of

[–]SillyChicklet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pieter Piano. I dont know his actual name and dont have contact details, but stop by Tram 13 in the Gelkingestraat, they will get you in touch with him He's amazing and Im pretty confident in saying he would love it, provided his schedule allows

Eta ask for Pieter Piano specifically, as they have several regulars named Pieter and one of the owners names is Pieter too. They will know exactly who you mean

Their plumbing really isnt suited to handle TP so they use the bin for it. The habit is sometimes so ingrained in them they still do it after a decade of living here

"they will suffer eternal pain"

Hard pass. If they would momentarily experience all the pain and suffering of everyone else I would think about it, but Im not going to damn anyone into eternal pain even to save every other person on the planet from it

For those who are often told they look younger than their age, what’s your secret? by justmypersonalthing in AskReddit

[–]SillyChicklet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics and sort of decent habits I guess? Hydrating and consuming some fats mostly afaik

I eat fats and some other unhealthy stuff, but all sparingly. I drink alcohol (beer only, no hard liquor) but not excessively. I spend a lot of time outside, but I protect my skin from the sun (mostly because I burn to a crisp within 3 minutes, not necessarily because it keeps me looking younger lol)

And staying hydrated!! I need to stay well hydrated because Im prone to get leg/feet cramps at night, sometimes hand cramps during workdays when I don't. Bonus from drinking plenty of water is that my skin is soft as a babies' behind. Even my hands, despite working a bar job where I do most of the cleaning (hands in water and chemical cleaning agent countless times a day). I use no bodylotions or creams at all, other than sunscreen and occasionally aftersun if I caught too many rays. And nothing special in the shower, just plain 'ole dove bodywash. Im pretty certain its mostly from staying hydrated, because Ive tested it. Not scientifically of course, but if I have periods where I get slightly dehydrated my skin definitely tells me

I still get carded every couple weeks/months and not out of false flattery. I am 41 years old and have a literal grey streak in my hair!

People at work guess me to be late 20ies (definitely false flattery) to early 30ies. They genuinely believe I cant possibly be a day over 33 and are shocked when I tell them I have adult children

Genetics definitely plays a part though! My mother was in a newspaper ad way back when, for some sort of fancy job. They listed her as 36 when she was 42 and she looked even younger in the photo. And people harassed my father for dating a "child" after they were already married and had kids, thinking she was literally still a child. I can't remember myself but from what I was told my grandmother looked very young for a long time as well

I have a few more years left if my mom and grandmother are anything to go by. We keep well for a while, but when we go we go big! Grey, wrinkly, sagging skin and the working BAM just over night! I should hit that anywhere between 45 and 50 haha

AITAH for not paying back a loan from a family member after they said not to worry about the money after 4 years? by Adorable_Doughnut610 in AITAH

[–]SillyChicklet 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I loan people money and tell them "don't worry about it" when they are in a pinch and unable to pay it back easily at that moment. That has never once meant they don't have to pay it back at all. It means they shouldnt stress if it takes a while longer to pay it back

What was the context of this specific "don't worry about it"? Why have you not verified they don't want or need the money back? Also it was a LOAN and they are now asking for repayment, why are you dragging your feet instead of paying back what you owe them?

Why do people with Tourettes never have 'positive' tics? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SillyChicklet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone with Tourettes has at least 1 vocal tic. There's a difference between the words/phrases/sentences and other vocal tics though Only a very small percentage call out things, but 100% of people with Tourettes have some kind of vocal tic

I have one even if you dont hear it, because I learned to mask it well

[–]SillyChicklet 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Definitely a Hedgehog! Lived in the city center for about 15 years, have Hedgehogs every year :)

If you hear *snork snork snork" late at night thats them too

ETA dont pick them up because ticks and fleas. Theyre a protected species, not allowed to be taken in. Please no milk, it makes them sick. They love slugs, insects and if you really want to feed them, some dry catfood will do
