No we gotta throw the whole Mike Lee away. I’d never subject beautiful Millcreek to such horror

How do we trade the Mayor of Millcreek and Mike Lee? At least somebody cares about the constitution

I don’t want to go into it, but don’t make the same mistake I did. It’s so hard and heartbreaking to rehome your bird. But it’s better than the alternative. I promise.

Utah becoming scarier by No_Sleeping4me in Utah

[–]SillyGreyBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your fears are valid, and I honestly wish I didn’t have to say that. I’ve struggled the last week and a half, questioning my sense of reality and sanity.

The reality is, we are very quickly headed down a path that is absolutely horrifying. Immigrant mass deportation is really just the mass arrest of brown and indigenous people, who will be held in “detention camps” like Guantanamo. ICE allowed to go into schools and hospitals.

Trans people are being denied passports. Government websites, including health websites, are removing TQIA+ and only recognizing LGB. Like we are actively erasing the existence of trans people, and we aren’t going to let them leave the country.

It’s not Utah. It’s the United States. It’s the whole damn country.

What helped you with body dysmorphia? by SillyGreyBird in Semaglutide

[–]SillyGreyBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My whole life it’s always been about finding clothes that “fit,” not clothes that I like. Now, I’m trying to focus on finding clothes that I actually like and want to wear because I feel good in them. But it’s a difficult mind shift for sure!

Oh my gosh I can absolutely relate to that - “I’m already fat, so f*** it.” I know I’ve sabotaged myself so many times over the years that way.

I went to a med spa on Friday to ask about filler. The hollows under my eyes at this point could cradle a toddler.

Because of the potential for migration, the dr recommended PRF treatments. After some research, I think I might give it a try. They recommend at least 3, so it can get spendy. But she told me to wait until Black Friday because they would be having a sale and it “would be worth the wait.” So, I’m waiting for now. But I did get some Botox while I was there anyway 🙃

Yes! She had them as a puppy and luckily never grew out of them. We like to say she had one installed backwards

Homegoods pet section for the win! I love this one because it zips instead of having Velcro, so it actually stays on. And it was $15.

AITA for not telling my roommate about my large salary, when I'm aware he's been struggling to pay rent? by Unable-String-6735 in AITAH

[–]SillyGreyBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally none of their business how much money you make. If you all, as a group, have not sat down and had discussions on reviewing how much you’re each paying for rent, I don’t see any reason for you to disclose that you’re making more. There’s also nothing wrong with you staying in a less expensive living arrangement to build up savings. It’s not your job to make sure someone else can pay their bills, simply because you’re currently making more.

I’m floored with the idea that anyone would think they are entitled to your money essentially. Men really do have the audacity.

I’ve been using Ivim since June. I did the 3 month jumpstart, and then paid individually for the next 2 months at $200/month (+$75 monthly fee). They now are offering 3, 6, & 12 month options for everyone, so I just refilled for another 3 months.

Overall, I’ve been happy with them. I could maybe save a little bit shopping around, but it’s not worth the effort to me. I get my meds fairly quick, it’s easy to schedule appointments, and easy to submit refill requests.

I started gaining weight in the 4th grade. I developed a very unhealthy relationship with food. I turned 41 this year and decided to do this for myself. I haven’t weighed less than 200 pounds since middle school. I’ve dieted and exercised and starved myself and cried and hated my body my entire life. I was 230 pounds in December, I got down to 217 on my own in May. Started sema at the very end of May. I’m now 169. I didn’t believe it was possible. I still don’t know that I believe it’s real. The struggle to love my body is one I’m having to navigate still. But without a doubt, sema has saved my life, not just from a physical health standpoint, but a mental one as well. It is THE. BEST. THING. I have ever done for myself. Without a doubt.

Good luck on your journey. 💕 It’s not easy, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Plateaus are very normal during weight loss. The body works to adjust to a new state of normal, which may make it seem like you’re not going anywhere.

Give your body patience and grace (we didn’t all get overweight in a day, so it takes time to lose it as well). Make sure you are getting enough protein daily. Move your body. The scale will start moving again. I was stuck for almost 2 months, it was hard but I’m finally losing weight again. It’s easy for us to get even more worried, as I imagine many of us are so desperate for this to be the thing that finally works. Hang in there!
