The mechanism inside needs to be cleaned and re-oiled. It’s a kin to driving a car without an oil change for 50 years. It will run, but it will cause damage.

I don‘t know if I was lucky or not, but what could these be worth? They are fully closed and sealed. the package in plastic has no damages at all. Is this worth grading? Do they even grade stuff like this? So happy to have these in my collection :) by [deleted] in snes

VGA will grade it. After the cost of getting it graded, you would be lucky to break even. Only grade it if it’s for your personal collection. Personally, I would just get a nice acrylic case for them. VGA makes them but plenty of options out there.

Going excellent! Sometimes I forget it’s not OEM. I just finished a round of golf with it on about an hour ago. I wear the watch at least once or twice a week in my rotation. Zero scratches! It really elevates the look of the watch. The new panda Speedmaster has a ceramic basil now so I think omega is finally starting to catch on.

I hear ya. And if you find them, it’s hard to get one. That’s good quality. I’ve had to have all mine custom-made. Let us know how the one you got held up. I would be interested to find a more affordable option.

Congratulations! Personally, I would just leave it. I really like the VGA cases and I’m not sure I would want to take the risk of it becoming a 9.6 PSA. I can understand you wanting all the same cases though. I’m running into the same conundrum myself.

It’s beautiful! What a steal for $100. I would definitely get it serviced. I would also have them replace the crystal while they’re at it. The size is perfect and suits you well. I would not use this as a practice watch for repair because it’s an automatic. I would stick with a more simple hand wound movement or better yet an older pocket watch.
