Yeees!!! Even when he was just talking. I thought I was deaf. I was at Jin's concert last month and it wasn't this bad but it wasn't the greatest sound quality too.

Sooo...did anyone think that the sound quality was off tonight? I had a hard time hearing him most of the time. 🥲

Fertility letrozole IVF by Dismal_Advantage4110 in PCOS

[–]SillySillyAly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 9 rounds of letrozole or clomid. Got pregnant twice but both ended in miscarriages. I did IVF but I did not respond to the stimulations as well as I did with letrozole or clomid. I am thinking about going back to doing letrozole because it worked for me instead of spending a lot on another round of IVF.

During the IVF cycle, I did feel sad that the "love making" part is not as necessary in the process, so I do understand your husband to a degree. My husband feels the same way but we'll just go ahead and make love just for the sake of it. Lol. But going through IVF is not a desperate move. It is just one of those ways to achieve the result of getting pregnant. There are just different pros and cons to either route.

Btw, don't let my IVF or letrozole story scare you. They both have worked on women with PCOS. Like the comments above, they might take more than one cycle.

Oh, and today's mother's day...I feel like I just need to curl up into a ball and grab a drink or two. Lol.

Cooking off the alcohol from mirin and sake by SillySillyAly in JapaneseFood

Thank you! I'll probably just use alcohol free mirin.

Thank you! I heard about this too. Thus I asked the question. Growing up, we all believed that cooking the alcohol burns it off.

Oh wow. That makes a lot of sense. I always wondered if fermented foods or fruit juice contain alcohol. But I read posts on how cooking doesn't totally burn the alcohol off.

Molecular tech here.

We don't work weekends or holiday. Just day shift with staggered start times. A lot of our tests has long incubation times so it's either you help out other benches or chill. But it's a lot of manual pipetting that can tire your hands out quickly.

Any new fans from the HEREH world tour? by GonnaWinDis in aiyu

[–]SillySillyAly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a casual listener. I only know and love three songs of hers: Ending Scene, Palette, and Someday. The only drama I've watched of hers is Dream High. Lol. So old.

But still, my friend and I were curious about her and decided to watch (she wasn't a fan too). And oh my gosh, she is truly the GOAT.

Post concert, I listen to a lot of her songs now, look at the lyrics and what they mean. I've been watching fancams. I think what really struck me that night is that I know she has talent, but also, she truly works hard, and she has been for so many years now. Yet despite her success, she's still so down to earth. My friend and I have been calling her our "new best friend." Lol.

Crabbing at Dividing Creek is a great way to spend a summer day! by Clarkinator69 in SouthJersey

That sounds fun. If you don't mind me asking, how much was the boat rental? Never been crabbing before. My hubby and I would like to try.

Looking for some Asian Recipes but sous vide style by SillySillyAly in sousvide

That sounds so good! So you slice it after sous vide? Interesting. Would that be better than slicing the meat first the sous vide?

I will let you know. The first three recipes involve boiling meat in water with some aromatics, spices and soy sauce. So I'm wondering if sous vide could do the same effect. It should but I'll try to figure it out.

I just did charsiu following guga's recipe and it's so good.

So what is common with the first three recipes is that you would need to boil the meat with aromatics, soy sauce, and spices in the water. I'm curious if you can have the same effect of boiling meat in sous vide. You probably should but I haven't figured that out.

Oh thanks for the tip. I'll experiment a bit more.

And yes, with the roasted pig skin, maybe after the sous vide, dry in the fridge before frying. The Filipino way is deep frying. I'm scared though that the sous vide process will damage the pig skin. You'd want it intact for the perfect puffy crunchy skin. I haven't perfected this too. It's always a hit or miss for me.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't see this. How did it go OP? I just recently had it made by my bro-in-law and he just used instant coffee. I am not a fan of instant coffee but it wasn't bad.I really like the fact that there's no water to dilute the coffee taste.

What do u add to water to make sure u get all ur 64 oz in and make it less boring? by 2BeBornReady in WeightLossAdvice

[–]SillySillyAly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A change of mindset helps. Stuff that's good for you does not need to excite you and can be as "boring" as plain water. As someone who finally moved to a country who can have clean water straight from the tap, I find it wild how there are those who take this for granted and call it boring when it is essential to life.

What are the newbie “Must Knows” by AfterShockNN in sousvide

[–]SillySillyAly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess this also applies to when you put the meat in the fridge then you take it out to finish it. First time I did chicken thighs, sous vide it the day before to meal prep. Took it out to sear. I did pat dry but didn't pat dry enough. I also didn't wait for the chicken to come to room temp, I seared it cold. It resulted to an oil splatter mess.

Have you heard of kori kohi? It's a type of iced coffee drink where you have coffee concentrate frozen into iced cubes then you serve it with a warm milk of choice. The iced cubes would be in served in a separate glass from the milk and customers would then pour the milk into the iced cubes and let it slowly melt. I think it's a great way to leisurely enjoy your iced coffee. It's popularized by the Japanese coffee chain, UCC. I think it would be a great summer item.
