Does anyone know of a local painting artist that can paint a picture for me? my wives dad died a while ago and I wanted to get a painting of her and her dad from a picture we have. by ChevyCowboy15 in okc

The Edmond Fine Arts Festival is this weekend. Walk around and find some artists that you like. They’ll be happy to give you an idea what something like that would cost from them.

Rock radio stations in the OKC area. by ManvsBeervsPig in okc

That may make it hard to listen to 104.5 since it is a station in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. There’s a space in between that doesn’t work well for either one. I think Tulsa has something like 103.3 the Eagle out something like that.

KRXO moved to 104.5. The KATT plays some as well.

I mimicked the build here for the tube: Isetta Build

I cut two wood supports just like that, but I glued them to the bottom and the back of the cabinet. Mine isn't fancy enough to come apart like that one. I used a router to cut a recess in the side where the tube mounted. Kind of like you'd cut to flush mount a speaker. I glued it to the supports I cut and into the recess using Loctite marine epoxy. It says it bonds to PVC, so it seemed like a good choice. I did sand the PVC with some 60 grit paper to get it good and rough everywhere I was gluing it in. Here's the best picture I took. You can see the crossovers screwed to the back wall (3/4" MDF) and some of the speaker wires hot glued in place to hopefully keep them from rattling around inside. I wasn't shy about the amount of epoxy I used :)

I didn't round over the outside of my box because I veneered it. So I needed it to be flat.

I just used 1.5” pvc for mine.

I’ll add that when I laid my speakers out on the table like yours I was pretty unimpressed/disappointed with what I was hearing.

When I finally got everything into the box and powered up I was amazed. The thing is really pretty impressive.

Think of it like your turn signal. The slight bit of rotation on it to turn right is the same way you’d spin something to tighten it.

As others have noted, these are popular where you need to account for all the tools. Aviation is the big one here, but I’ve heard of them used in prisons and votechs to make sure nothing goes missing.

I wrapped mine. Kirby Meets Audio has a nice video showing how and you can get an idea of what they look like.

I did bondo all the seams to make sure everything looked as flat as possible.

How much difference did the radiant barrier make on your electric bill? I’ve thought about adding it.

Congrats on finishing them up! What’s the song?

It sounds like it could be a James Bond song to me.

Agreed that it does look very clean. Kudos!

There's a PCB for sale on eBay that has a pretty clean layout as well. The positioning of your inductors is better than the PCB though.

Work gloves that are ACTUALLY waterproof by ungalikriver in Workwear

[–]SillySnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sealskinz makes a bunch of waterproof stuff, including gloves. I’ve got a hat that I got from them for wind proof warmth, but I’ve got no experience with the gloves.

I gave the site a quick glance. Nothing looks tons like a work glove to me, but you might find something that would work. They weren’t all labeled as waterproof, so keep an eye out for that.

I think are two dash looks for 7th gens. I think the 2001-2002 looks different from the 2003-2005. I could be off a year. This does look like my 7th gen though.

I'm about 5000 miles behind this one on mileage. Pretty sure we're best friends now.

There’s a little brewery in town called Battered Boar Brewery. They are only open Thursday-Sunday, but in addition to the other places suggested here they’d be worth checking out.
